I have a few comments so I will go down the list.

1. I like your art resolution. I'm working on that myself. I think if I work creativly on my own things atleast a few times a week. I started an art journal, a sketchbook with thoughts, drawings, collages, mixed media etc, to help me keep in check and help stimulate my creative thinking.

2. tv and internet is distracting for me too but when your in the business of being creative these things can also be tools. of course their is nothing wrong with escaping to your fav tv show.

3. I learned french in highchool, I took 4 years of it, and because I live in florida I don't get to practice it much. My pronuciation isn't as great as it was, but I can read french, and translate it well, just speaking it is harder. It's true if you don't use it, you lose it, spanish is a good language to learn because the spanish population in america is pretty high any where you go you can use it.

4. She's probably senile.

i'm thinking that i need an 'internet vacation'. with all the free time i have lately, i think i'm becoming too reliant on the internet for entertainment: reading articles, watching videos, myspace browsing, etc. i think i'm internet addict! or maybe i just need to have a life again:(

Did you know that English is NOT the official language? Indeed there is no "official" language in Florida and most other states. This has been a HUGE controversy over the past few years because some people want to make it the official language and opponents think that they are trying to punish non-English speakers, specifically Hispanics. Some of my students did research papers on this- they each took a different side of the issue and had a debate. It was really interesting.

I do believe that if you're going to learn a second language, Spanish is the most useful. In just a few generations we'll all be speaking some retarded form of Spang-lish anyways.

Glad to hear your keeping busy, especially with your art stuff. It would be so easy to give up and just watch TV all the time if you didn't have anything to keep you going. But what I really want to know is...when and where is Ducktales on? I love to see that again!

its not the official language? now that freakin sucks! i have nothing against the language or the people; but i still have the mindset that if i were to move to another country, i'd at least learn the language rather than have a country cater to me so i have little to no need of learning the language. but i guess eventually when i go to any public business, i'll have to look for the english version in various signs, menus, and other notices. hmmm... i think blade runner might've predicted that, but i dunno.

oh, and Ducktales, Tale Spin, Darkwing Duck, etc are out on DVD box sets:)

It's just one of those things. I don't know why it wasn't addressed during the whole immigration from Eastern Europe in the early 20th century. I guess the Irish immigrants must have forced the newer immigrants to conform. It didn't become an issue until we started getting all the hispanic immigrants, and now that we have all this equal rights protection and whatnot the lawyers are enjoying the legal battle over English-only America. It's kind of a contradictory practice though- we can't force people to learn and use English, but we can mandate that students pass the FCAT as a requirement for graduation- the English-only FCAT. It's kind of ridiculous.

...and DVD box sets of those classics might be worth the expenditure.
