for various reasons (that I'm happy to explain if you're curious), they don't fit into my worldview.

...OK, what is meant by "they don't fit into your worldview"?

(Note that what I'm really asking about here is your use of the word "worldview", of course. :) )

...you know, I don't know. This must be about my 5th attempt to explain that, and I think I'm now forced to admit that I wasn't thinking entirely clearly why I wrote that.

Thinking about it a bit more, my actual question is twofold:
1. Why explicitly mention invoke the idea of worldview at all?
2. The phrasing... you say it doesn't "fit into" your worldview... I don't know, something just seems odd about this. Any particular reason you wrote it that way?

1) Because it gives some substance to my not making resolutions. I don't make them because the way I conceptualize my life, the passage of time, my existence on this planet (as separate from my life) would render them utterly worthless.

2) Wrote it that way because it seemed clearest.

Naah. The year was actually pretty okay, all told.

I'd love to hear from you =) By the time I got my shit together this summer you'd already gone off to Japan, unfortunately.

I'll drop you a line with my address. Is your email the same?
