it hurts peoples' feelings to be told that they're upsetting you.
Ok...so what. Do they mean that you should "be nice" while other folks heap dogshit on you? Do they mean that your feelings of hurt aren't as valid as their feelings of entitlement? And I'm sorry, even if you're below someone on the rung, that doesn't entitle them to heap verbal and emotional abuse on you. You're supposed to be at work not at home, you should speak up and say that the abuse is not appropriate in a professional environment, that criticism is one thing, dressing someone down in a humiliating manner is quite another.
Too bad it's a small bidness and not a company with an HR department to complain to. Doesn't excuse shitty employee relations.
You don't deserve to be treated like crap. You really really don't.
