I have a tendency to be condescending, but when people are condescending to me, it really hurts. I'm a hypocrite in that sense ( Read more... )

Speaking of the music scene there. Mike was asking me what good local bands are in Orlando, and I couldn't think of any. So...who is there?

i know someone who is majoring in art and minoring in physics. so something like that can be done. it actually makes a lot of sense to me. you should go for it, mal falka.

If I major in art, then I will definitely be minoring in either math or physics so that when I go to grad school for architecture, I won't get freaked out. Plus I like math.
As far as double majors, though, I think it only works if they have classes in common. I'm not very familiar with the process. I also have the opportunity to get two separate diplomas at the same time (which according to my father is somehow better than a double major) since I'm probably starting college as a sophomore. But that all sounds like hard work, and I have had enough hard work with IB to know that I need a little free time now and then.

As far as the majoring thing, major in what you love because that will eventually make you sucessful. and as for the person with 5G's, tell them they can give me some of that sweet lovin' too.

I don't care much about money. I know that I eventually want a career in architecture (which I would love) but don't feel like I am prepared yet for engineering/architecture classes. Plus, I want to take so many art classes that I might as well major in it.

why don't you just major in architecture. uf has a really good architecture school. it's usually ranked nationally. but, be ready for the pretentiousness of all architecture majors.

I'm going to UCF and they don't have an architecture major. I know I could transfer to UF, but they won't give me nearly as much scholarship money as UCF. UCF is giving me 2 full scholarships as well as a laptop and money for "travel and expenses" and I haven't found comparable merit scholarships anywhere else.
I didn't really mean to brag; I'm just trying to explain. However, I guess it might be obvious that I'd fit in with the pretentious architecture students. ;-)
