Was the neg a big wavy when scanning?
I'm surprised to see that most of the trees in the shot don't have that classic white IR look (though, some do).
Excellent IR, btw. Film + IR = nightmare.

IR film is indeed tricky!
It would seem as though pine trees absorb more IR light than other vegetation!
And the neg was a bit wavy, but not to the extent that it should cause things. These dark spots are visible on the negative as well.

you can see it in 3 splotches... one over the tree between the houses, one over the last building and then the big one.
and charlie brown, the answer is simple. its the swarms of Killer Bees, Locusts and Cicadas.

Yeah - though only one of the splotches is distracting IMO. The others, I'm OK with those.

I like the sweeping landscape. If you hadn't pointed out the dark spot, I would've continued thinking it was a strange cloud shadow...or something.
