[The smell of baking cookies fills the kitchen and the hallway outside of it. Souji's at the fridge, pouring a glass of milk, which he sets on the table. He looks over toward the oven where babbyfied Yousuke is standing, peering into the window in the oven door. Souji smiles to himself.]

It'll be a few more minutes.

[Minato had been out of his room for a little while, daring to venture out. He didn't have his seal plush with him as he left it in his room, but a small part of him did wish he had it with him wherever he went.

There was the smell of cookies from the kitchen, so Minato headed very cautiously in that direction, just staying outside of said kitchen and peeking his head in to see who was there.]

[Souji scoots his chair closer to Minato's.]

Which frosting? There's blue, white, and pink.

Minato should do blue! Then you have to do pink, Souji.

[The fact that big boy Souji is going to make pink cookies makes him giggle.]

[Blue. Blue, Minato wanted blue for so many obvious reasons, and he was glad that Yousuke had agreed too. He relaxed more and nodded, an indication that blue was going to be perfect and what he wanted. He pointed to the extra butter knife and looked up at Souji again as if to ask if it was okay to use it.]

[Souji nods and pushes the knife and blue frosting closer to Minato's plate.]

I'll use pink. [Because big boys are not afraid of girly things, Babbysuke.]

[Yousuke just laughs more, and picks up the red sprinkles to apply liberally. He pokes fun at him in a singsong voice.]

Souji uses pink because Souji's a girl~

[Minato scooped some of the blue frosting onto the butter knife and inspected it for a second or two while it hung on the dull blade before copying what Yousuke did and spreading it on the cookie.

But he set his butter knife down and moved the pink frosting closer to Souji so he could decorate too. It's not fair that they get to have all the fun and Souji doesn't. And how weird, Souji didn't look like a girl. Maybe he just needs braids and a bokken or shinai?]

[Shooooshooshshh.

Souji nods his thanks to Minato, taking the pink frosting.]

I wouldn't make a very good girl.

Yeah-huh you would! You cook all the time!

[Minato went back to concentrating on getting all the blue frosting on his cookie to look right, "right" in this case meaning looking like the ones Yousuke had made sans sprinkles. Sprinkles, he needed those.

Well, maybe so Souji could be somewhat spared since Minato wasn't sure what this conversation was really about, he reached for the pink sprinkles and put some on the cookie he had just frosted with blue. Sprinkles were sprinkles no matter what color they were. He looked up at Souji again though and hoped it was okay that he used some of the sprinkles that were meant for him.]

I'm not very cute.

[Souji notices Minato waiting for his approval and nods with a slight smile.] Looks good.

...Nah, you're not. But there are girls that aren't cute.

[Yousuke is blissfully unaware of any strange behavior on Minato's part. And now his hands are totally covered in frosting. He may or may not be frosting cookies with his fingers now.]

[Minato looked at his cookie again, and since Souji had said it looked good, then Minato thought he must have done something right for once. He nodded a little since that cookie was done then. There couldn't possibly be any more room for any more frosting on it without obscuring the sprinkles.

He wondered if it would be okay to decorate another cookie since that was kind of fun, so he eyed one that needed decorating, but didn't want to ask. But that was all right, for now he got totally distracted watching Yousuke frosting cookies with his fingers. Is that kind of thing okay?]

[Souji carefully sets Minato's finished cookie out of the way and moves one of the undecorated ones in front of him.]

And there are boys who like pink.

[He pauses and watches Yousuke.] Someone else might want to use that frosting. [So don't put your fingers in it.]

My hands are clean!

[...But he listens and starts to use the knife again anyways. It's still a big mess but a slightly more sanitary one.]

[Minato blinked for a second, looking up at Souji before looking at the new cookie. He very quietly thanked Souji for that. Minato stuck with blue frosting since that was the closest thing. He didn't use a lot of it, and instead moved it closer to Yousuke in case he wanted to switch up colors. Or mix colors? Was that okay too? Oh, well.

He reached for the rainbow sprinkles this time and put those on the new cookie. That should look okay too. Maybe.]
