It's starting to feel like home

Well, I've got you pics of my place here in Fukuyama. Check them out.

Here's what it looks like from the balcony at the back of the apartment.

And here's what it looks like from my room. Those are the bullet train tracks ruining my view. It's not too bad since the trains stop around midnight, but the freight trains on the lower tracks sound like a thunderstorm moving in.

The toilet is separate from the rest of the bathroom in Japanese homes, and here is our fancy schmany toilet. I don't know how I'll ever learn to love a toilet that doesn't have a heated seat.

This is our kitchen. Note the almost complete lack of counter space.

These are the findings from my first trip to one of the many 100 yen stores in Japan. That's right, everything is only 100 yen (right now the dollar is worth 120 yen). I got all this for 2100 yen (5% tax).

I also have a great roommate to go with the place. She's British, likes to cook, enjoys drinking until your head spins off, and in general is very funny.

The weather is nice here right now. It's just the beginning of rainy season, and it's not too humid or hot right now. Once rainy season is over, it's going to be a sauna. I'll let you know just how bad it is. Until later, peace out.
