A few thoughts

The Japanese just LOVE lines. Nice ordered queues where everyone takes a number or snakes around velvet ropes. I had to queue this morning to get cash from an ATM. I was supposed to queue at the station post office, but I don't like taking numbers and waiting. I have no patience or decency. That, and being a gaijin is a free pass to be "rude" ( Read more... )

I'm reading! Glad you made it there okay and that things seem to be going well so far. It is indeed hot and hazy here.

Yeah, it`s hard not to. Once one of my professors at IU commented that "The Japanese seem to love standing in line. It seems perfectly natural to them that they have to wait for something." It takes a lot of patience some days (but now I have a cell phone to play games on to pass the time).
