I wish I knew the art of picnicking.

Two nights ago, at the garden concert, I spotted four elderly women setting up a darling little picnic. Truly I was near to being offended at not being invited!

They had a pretty tin of quiche, white wine, a flat bread with what looked like blue cheese, a platter of fruit (or red, yellow and black tomatoes...it ( Read more... )

LOL - fabulous fashion tip. Eilidh, the first time I met you I wanted to spend more time with you and get to know you. I've only seen you briefly at various events since then, usually with me behind a camera with no time to visit with anyone. I love how your blog lets me get to know you a bit more. Your posts of moments in your life are great and I would absolutely love to do a picnic with you like those women... sounds decadent and fabulous with ample opportunities for beautiful photos. Oh - can't you just see the light filtering through the trees on the china and strawberries? (sigh) Why did we have to decide to move to opposite sides of the world at the same time? Imagine the photos and fun if we had chosen the same side of the world!

I have to admit I was always a little envious of the fun you and A.M.F seemed to have in the Hat, and wanted an opportunity to "hang" with and get to know you too.=) I am so glad you started a blog of your journeys in Europe. About the time you were in Italy, I was reading a cookbook by a gal (Greek/Finish) who is married to an Italian. Her recipes and reflections on life there made me want to hop on a plane and meet up with you somewheres. It is kind of interesting about the moving... Hmmmm...wonder what is going on with that =) If you get an opportunity to visit NZ, I promise you a picnic of strawberries served on china, and lots and lots of beautiful photos.

If you visit the UK I promise to take you to a castle in Scotland and we'll drink tea and take way too many pictures. When is your birthday? Ask David to give you a plane ticket. ;-)

Ooooo...you sure know how to get a gal's attention! Tempting, very tempting. Maybe Father has a cow or two that He would be willing to sell on my behalf *wink*
