Apparently where I will be going in Japan is about 25 mins away from Takarazuka. I know there are some fans on my friends list.. is it something that I should go see while I'm there?
Hahaha im so sorry. Im such an idiot! Yay NIIGATA! I've never been west of Kyoto so I have a lot of Kansai exploring ahead of me, and VERY much looking forward to it.
If you are on the Shinkansen route it should be really easy to go back and forth right?
I'm seconding the Takarazuka review- it's incredibly fun! The fans are amusing, too- lots of old women obsessed with the Takarazuka stars. The shows change out pretty often, so by the time you get here it's hard to predict what will be up, but I'm going to try to see their adaptation of Phantom of the Opera (when I remember when it's opening). I saw one of their original shows back in November and it was great.
I'm fairly close to Takarazuka as well, in Amagasaki (smack in the middle of Kobe and Osaka- 35 minutes to Kobe, 25 to Osaka). Kansai rocks, you're coming to the best part of this country.
