Christmas sucked.
So many things have happened in the month since I last updated so I'll try best to lay them out here.
On December 23rd, my brother and his wife took their 5-yr old son to the hospital because he has been sick lately and he didn't sleep at all the night before. Well the hospital ran some tests and they showed a low blood count. On Christmas day, they officially diagnosed him with Leukemia. Needless to say this destroyed everyone's holiday spirit and was one of the saddest times I can remember for all of us. The next day St. Jude's paid for the 5 yr old and one parent to fly to the St. Jude hospital in Memphis to begin chemo while my brother and his 8yr old son drove up on the 27th. The one bright spot is that this form of Leukemia has a 98% cure rate, not remission but actual get rid of and never have it again, the treatment will last for 3 years. Please forgive me for not updating with this info sooner, but I didn't wanna dampen anyone else's holiday with the news and this is also why I haven't been online much since before x-mas.
On to some happier news...
Mail was definately lighter this holiday season than last year, but it is still heavy and I am getting more hours than I was before which is nice.
But the big news is...
I got a letter yesterday about going in for an interview this Thurs to become a retail Clerk. This will mean no more wear and tear on the car, no more being out in the heat and rain, and a pay raise + benefits. Going by the timetable of when I was first hired as a carrier, about a month after the interview I'll hopefully get an official job offer and orientation + drug testing and such can happen and I'll be a clerk before my second year aniv (April 16th) comes around. I am thrilled as the steady work and pay raise means moving as far from my mother as possible :D
Hope everyone's holidays were more festive than mine were and I'm going to try to be online more and also meet my first and only New Yr Reso to move out the house by my next b-day (april 18th) x.x
