Shoot!! Wish I'd known she was in Philly, though given my life these days it probably wouldn't have been possible to go, anyway. Hmmm. IS she doing anything besides D*C this year?
AFAIK, Dragon*Con is it. She told me last October that she would only do a couple of cons this year, and it looks like that has solidified into stopping completely.
Can't blame her for that decision, although it makes my (pretty much confirmed) decision to skip D*C this year a little sadder. There's always reunion gatherings.
Only a signing? OUCH, indeed. That really sucks for you. :( Though I suppose at least you did get to talk to her, huh?
Controversy about not going to cons? People really will bitch about anything. I figure we're lucky to get what we do have -- shows like Lost have a much larger fanbase, but no cons. Same with many other popular shows. And I can't blame her for stopping, given those reasons.
I think she'll do D*C come hell or high water. She hates cancelling things. She did Polaris21 last year because she had to cancel Toronto Trek (same show, different name) the year before.
I did get to talk to her. I had like 10 things for her to sign. ;-)
Sorry to hear it was just a signing, though I'm glad you got to talk to her.
and yes, that is her Harley
<3
What she said to me was that she did the cons for the fans of the show, and now that the show is ending, she wants to move on from the show.
Thanks for the clarification - I know some were upset at that one article that tried to spin it as "cutting ties with fans," gah. Of course, *I'd* love her to keep doing them since I'm late to this whole fandom thing, but I totally understand why she and the rest of the cast want to move on with their lives. ;)
And why don't they do cons for soaps or, say, Lost or Grey's Anatomy? Their fans are just as crazy as we are.
Yay, pictures! And have fun at the guitar factory, that sounds sweet.

Thanks for the con report and the pictures to come. How was the Martin factory? Do they have a proper tour?

Let's hope she DOES make it to D*C this year. ;)
And enjoy the museum tomorrow!

And while I'm disappointed she's going to stop doing cons, it's her life and decision to make.
