The MARKET Bible

Jan 30, 2007 12:43

Hello, all. I found a part of my MARKET Bible notes while cleaning out my room, and decided to post them. As I find other fragments (or rewrite them, which I don't want to have to do) I'll post them here.

DISCLAIMER: These are not my politics. This is not my religion.

And this Bible is for Sabine.

A Fragment of the New Testament of the MARKET Bible

1. The Son of the MARKET travelled to Communist China, where workers on their lunch break greeted him, waving scraps from Nike ™ T-shirts and ensuring he had plenty of Coca-Cola ™ to drink.

2. And the authorities were worried, and made plans to arrest him.

3. And so it was that the Communist authorities arrested the Son of the MARKET and seized all of his assets, and sentenced him to be deported.

4. The Communist government allowed its people to ask that a criminal be pardoned.

5. But when the officer asked ‘do you want me to release the one you call the Son of the MARKET?’ certain minions of the Communists said ‘free any other’ and the crowd took up their call.

6. The Son of the MARKET was forced to carry his luggage to the border of China, and on that border, the Son of the MARKET cried out ‘Father, thou hast forsaken me!’.

7. And he was deported, and the people despaired.

8. However, Taiwan continued to trade in his honour.

9. On the third day after the Son of the MARKET’s deportation, economic activity began again in China. Two women approached the shops, saw that they were open, and were afraid.

10. The Angel of the MARKET appeared and said unto them ‘Do not be afraid, for he has returned.’

11. The women ran to the Son’s disciples, but they did not believe them, except for Friedman, who decided to invest investigate.

12. So he went to the border and there he found the Son of the MARKET overseeing the construction of a new mega-mall.

13. And Friedman cried out ‘praise the MARKET!’ and the construction workers fell to their knees in awe as soon as they were on a rest break.

14. And the Son of the MARKET said ‘I have returned, but only for a short time. Tomorrow I go to America, where I shall rule the global economy in my Father’s name.’

15. The Son of the MARKET then departed, leaving memos to his disciples that they should establish outlets in other places, especially in the developing African economy.

16. And verily Friedman listened, and established outlets in China, and the Chinese people were happy.

I'm sure the Genesis part is on my desk...
