Journey's End: Still not over it

Sep 18, 2013 21:23

I just watched a re-run of Journey's End on the telly. It's been 5 years (well, 4 years and about 50 weeks) since I first watched the episode, and about 3 or so years since I last time watched it. I thought I was good. I thought that I was over Donna's fate. I thought I could handle it.

I am now a disgusting, snotty, sniffling mess.

Bravo RTD. Bravo. You're a right bastard for what you did to Donna, but you still deserve props for creating such a magnificent character. I'll always remember you Donna (even if you can't).

Excuse me now while I go find some more tissues and work on my work presentation.

PS. I'll just have to go back to consoling myself by denying the existence of Journey's End's ending and choosing to believe that the Doctor and the Doctor-Donna went off and had their own spin-off series called The New Adventures of Spaceman and Supertemp where they save worlds, have fun, occasionally veg out on the Tardis binge-watching Monty Python and are generally awesome. Together. The important part is that they're together.
