Well this sucks.

Jaenelle is currently sitting next to Lucivar's bed, looking extremely unhappy and extremely uncomfortable and extremely annoyed. Lucivar is, fortunately, currently asleep, though it took all her effort to get him there, especially when he got past the shock of Jaenelle being alive and realized that she was currently vulnerable and, as far as he's ( Read more... )

So she’s left Locke with Valen, we can suppose, because she said she told Valen she wouldn’t leave until he came back, and to take his time.

She’s really tired - but for now, she needs to know that Lucivar is alright. She found Phedre in the room where she’d left her, and she was briefly briefed, no pun intended, on the interaction with Ambarussa, and how Phedre knows Lucivar.

The two girls are now at Jaenelle’s door, and Anita knocks, very, very lightly.

Jaenelle looks up and eyes the door, testing the psychic scent, and then the door clicks open quietly. "Please stay quiet," Jaenelle says tiredly, but she does need the help, and a friendly face right now would be welcomer than welcome. "It took me forever to get him to sleep."

Anita nods, Phedre is silent - she's not sure how to react - Jaenelle scared her a bit, even if Anita assured her that she's "sweet as cupcakes."

"Wanted to check up on you guys," Anita whispers. "This one," she points at Phedre, "was worried about the big guy. Since she updated me, figured I owed her passage. D'you mind?"

Light tone. Worried as hell.

Well, she certainly doesn't look scary now. Just tired, and sore, and unhappy.

She gives a brief smile. "No, not at all. Please, come in and sit down...I think he's out for a while, at least." She casts a look in Lucivar's direction, a sad little frown flickering over her face with a flash of anger in her eyes.

The door opens and Chaosti appears in the doorway, and Gabrielle's head immediately pops over his shoulder. She's got the baby resting against hers. Her eyes dart anxiously between Jaenelle and Lucviar. "How is he?"

Jaenelle looks up, flicks a quick gaze at Lucivar to be sure he's still sleeping, and stands up, going to give someone a hug. She needs one.

"Not very good," heavily. "At least he's sleeping. Finally."

She gets a hug from both, first Chaosti and then Gabrielle as he steps aside to let his wife into the room. When she pulls back Gabrielle shifts Aiden to her other shoulder, looking determined. "What can I do?"

Jaenelle looks a little apprehensive. "He drove Karla out of the room earlier..." But she's tired and sick of not being able to do anything, so she doesn't protest as much as he should.

Jaenelle will undoubtedly feel the presence of Merlin eventually - so much anger, rage and pain are impossible to ignore for him, and more so from the Faerie Queen, both because he likes her and because he well knows she could graze the Mansion if she had a mind to it.

Shying away from interference, though, he only hovers about, as he suspect that his presence is known, and that she will call on him, if she wishes for his help. Why the bird form? Because birds have no hands. Without hands, he cannot conjure. This is the trick he found to force himself to meddle less.

At the moment, he is but a bird on a branch, outside. His psychic scent probably breathes concern and chagrin - Lucivar did strike him last time they spoke.

Jaenelle pauses after several moments of silence and turns her head, frowning a little, her eyes closer to sapphire than midnight but still a bit annoyed. "What are you doing?" Softly, mindful of Lucivar's sleep.

*What I can,* replies the wizard, still in bird form. The merlin comes closer, landing silently on the windowsill.

*Making myself accessible to you, if you wish me to be here, and no more. I will leave if you bid so.*

She shakes her head, slowly. "No, don't leave. The company is welcome. I just..." A sigh. "I don't know what to do. Other than wait."
