Yeah, we get those calls too. Some folks who call our office are surprised to actually get a person on the first call-most other government offices use auto attendant. Our customers are often surprised at our hours: 8AM to 9PM. We only close early on the day of our office Christmas party, the day before Thanksgiving, the day before Christmas and on New Year's Eve. On those days, we close at 5PM. Believe it or not, we are actually open when it's convenient for the public to come in and do business.

The holidays tend to be slow around the office. Pretty boring except for the occasional custody battle dramas right before the holidays. I worked overtime on the 26th-8AM to 10PM and got three days of overtime earlier in the month. All I did on Friday was issue Marriage Licenses to folks who were either getting married by the justice of the peace that evening or over the weekend.
