Watched Prime (2005) last night. While I did expect a rediculous romantic comedy, I got what was closer to a drama rather than a comedy. It was a film that was labeled a comedy because it doesn't hit the notes of a drama, but doesn't hit the notes of a comedy either. There were funny moments, Bryan Greenburg had many, many clever lines. But the performances by Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep were more introspective and thoughtful than one usually gets in a comedy, not that their performances were lacking.

In short: not a comedy, but worth seeing how it deals with family's expectations and what we tell people we aren't related to.

Had my birthday party last weekend. Lots of fun. Once again, I seem to attract the weirdos in the bar. And they aren't cute. Last year My BFF and I were stuck talking to two pretty drunk guys (They were diluting their scotch with water! Sacrilidge!!!). This year, while waiting for my friends to join me, I was joined by a drunk guy. He was fairly pleasant, aside from it being his third stop. He bought be a G&T that was like [---------------Gin---------][tonic] but it was good gin, so it didn't taste like ass! I was saved from telling my life story (though not before he annouced to the bar it was my birthday) by an unexpected visit from

birthday, movie review
