Body wash for men??

Nov 12, 2004 00:33

Note to all females: keep a good stock of soap/body wash...So the past couple of weeks have been a little busy and I figured it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't make an extra trip to the store just to buy more girlie soap. Well, my procrastination lead to me running out of the typical girlie scented, ex-foliating, Dove. Instead I was forced to resort ( Read more... )

Erin, this is so amusing to me. I have to tell you though that my boyfriend uses Herbal Essence body wash with a puff. Now don't tell him tha tI told you that, but he does. I realized that to really get a good clean body you need to use something that lathers and body wash and a puff are the best way to go. It is so funny though because he is you total mans man, but he also has a feminine side to him, which is great for me being his girlfriend. He uses a bath puff, loves when I give him a pedicure or manicure, and recently has taken to facial masks. I told him when he was having a minor skin problem that he should try one of my masks, and he did. The next day we went to Walmart for his to get one of his own. It's so funny though because you would not picture this side to him from looking at him. He's one of those guys that very fit, works outside, and yet he exfoliates. I just thought that I would share this with you because I was laughing when I read your blog.

Well maybe we should have the opinion of a guy. OK I'll go. Guys, in general do not use body washes. I did have a roommate however that did. I could not stand the smell of this stuff, but he apparently liked very obnoxious smelling things, like those glade plug-ins. He would put one in every room. Your clothes would smell like gummy bears. Men generally like the stuff that gets you good and clean. Especially those anti-bacterial bar soaps that are gonna kill every last germ. Most guys are into killing things even if its little microscopic things that you can't see. Well I am e-mailing this from a computer in Laramie, Wyoming. It's about 15 degrees out and I think I'm gonna go take a hot shower (with bar soap).

Men using Body Wash anonymous November 17 2004, 14:31:31 UTC
This is something that I never really thought about. Actually, whenever I thought of guys, I never connected them to cleanliness. (No offense guys). I grew up with two sisters and I knew the bathroom world as a clean, soft, yummy smelling world. Then in high school I got a boyfriend and that yummy bathroom world was flipped upside down. I won't give details, but it was disgusting. I do not know how some guys can do what they do and feel so casual about it ( ... )

Erin-
What a funny post. I agree with it being weird that men would use things like body wash. It seems way too feminine for them to even think about that. However, large companies will try to make money wherever they can. I am sure if they advertise it enough, it will happen and soon be normal.
Even for women, I get a laugh out of the products they make. My father is a dermatologist so I have been made fun of for any special lotions or face wash products that I have bought. My dad doesn't believe in much beyond bar soap and needed prescription medicine. (oh and sunscreen during the ENTIRE year!)
The insentive for me to believe his words are that I get free samples of soap, lotion, shampoo, etc. Let me know if you ever need any products....I have tons!
