Jenn? I've been sitting over here trying to come up with the right words to express how proud I am of you and how pleased I am at your commitment, and nothing is sounding even CLOSE to how squee-ish I am! But I am! I am FULL OF SQUEE AND BOUNCY-UPPY-DOWNY-NESS over you completing this 5K!!!!
YAAAAAYYY!

Thank you! *glows and blushes* Can I tell you how awesome a runners high is? I think it's one of the best things I've ever felt. I can't even explain it!

So I'm going to start looking at half marathon training schedules. I've got 18 weeks and most programs are 12 weeks long. Plus, doing the 10k - puts me about half way in for some of the training programs!

Training for a race makes me feel like an athlete, and that's just an awesome feeling. Last time I signed up for a half though - I ended up with a hip injury. So I'm going to build it like I'm supposed to. This weekend I'll step back and do a 5.5 mile run. Next weekend I'll do 6.5

I'm really excited about this. I'm going to see whether I can do the half and how long it takes me. Who knows, if a half is feasible.... I think I'd like to do a marathon sometime in my life. Maybe....

Great job!

You have to watch that rush to the start :) it can blow your whole run.

Race for the cure is a 5k ... they were trying to push the 5k at frederick the night before as a warmup. You could do that so long as you take the 5k slow and use it just to stay loose (if you think you could hold back, otherwise not a good plan).
