She seems to be a happy soul considering her not-so-happy last couple of months. She's very calm and loving and follows me everywhere. Half the time I don't know she's there. Stealth pup, she is.
"...and I finally heard her bark at my neighbor's dog." Haha - the universal "I'm HOME and this is *my* turf so muck it! Oh, and how are 'ya neighbor?" And as for Annie's one eye, sometimes I think one can see the world that much clearer that way ;)
Rescues are love, here's a link to one I did last Sunday - there was a dog there too (Dachshund/Chi mix, tho' he's not in the vid, but he was adorable and friendly and very adoptable.
I hope Mom makes it... seeing her stand must make you proud to know that after such horrific neglect she can experience kindness. What a beautiful baby. :)
Not a week goes by that SPCA & various rescue organisations aren't bringing in hundreds of animals from hoarders/breeders and farm properties. I try to disbelieve that any human can be so neglectful, but nothing surprises me anymore. I'm sad to say that I'm truly disappointed in humans all too often.
Today I stopped to buy some dog food and there was yet another rescue group with BIG dogs... some nice lab mixes and a couple of shepherds. It breaks my heart because I know these dogs are the hardest to home, while small dogs do well. A guy was rolling his eyes while the volunteer was explaining why they do home assessments and I was thinking if someone had done that before maybe that dog wouldn't have had to be rescued the day before he was to be euthanised. People! *stomps foot in disgust*
Oh thank you. We've been getting used to each other... we went for a ride in the car, then we got a new collar and new jewelry (registration tag and ID tag) and we made a personal appearance at our new Vet's office.
Since she's been used to being crated all day while her foster Mom was at work, she's loving this new freedom. Of course along with that comes TIRED. She's crashed on the floor under my feet now.

Bless these rescue people for what they do. IMO they're the real heroes in this world.
