Vatican lists new sinful behaviors

so drugs, pollution, genetic manipulation and earning too much money puts you on a path to hell.

apparently, diddling little kids and covering it up is still ranking as a virtue.

Like your final destination was ever in doubt.

Fear not. We'll save you a spot in the lake of fire. All the cool kids'll be there.

::scoots over on the 4-man bobsled to hell::

Think about it - do you really wanna go the same place as Ratzinger? I thought not.

Remember that Dante saw many popes in hell.

I think pollution is definitely a problem. Not being a good steward of the Earth that God gave us is pretty ungrateful. It shows not just a lack of respect for ourselves, it's also a lack of respect for our fellow human beings current and yet to be born. The genetic manipulation thing is a bit ridiculous. The widening gap between the Haves and the Have Nots is also a problem of the same magnitude as pollution. It's about not taking care of each other. And while I hesitate to use the word sin ever, I think that issue almost deserves the label.

Pagan: been there and been doing that a couple thousand years before jesus was even a glimmer in the Holy Spirit's eye.

i have no tolerance for a group telling me going against common sense is a sin, and will not own up to the multitude of truly horrific acts committed against and innocents and continues to shelter and protect those who can only be described as evil.

Christian groups as a whole across a variety of denominations has failed until now to recognize the importance of taking care of the Earth. They deserve the recognition for finally making it a point. Every denomination and faith has trouble with clergy having inappropriate relationships, whether with minors or married parishioners it doesn't matter. The Catholic Church's covering up of the problem does deserve its criticism. I would never be part of a denomination that systematically covered up such tragedies. While I'm not diminishing the consequences of such atrocities, it must be weighed against the good that the Church does do in the world.

Does this mean that Gregor Mendel will have to be ejected from heaven?

Diddling little kids, covering it up, and then refusing to provide abuse prevention classes. Virtue!
