Christmas dinner - planning mode. We decide on crown roast of pork and typical side dishes: mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc.
"And you'll make a cake for dessert, right?" I'm asked.
Of course I will.
So we made a giant crown roast of pork. And when it was done we put a penis cookie cutter on it.
The metal wang was replaced with mounds of delicious cornbread-sausage-apple stuffing before we triumphantly carried the main course to the table. Pork rocks.
I've been obsessed with chocolate work lately. My hand isn't quite as steady as I'd like, and I have zero drawing ability, but even I must admit I'm getting better with each project.
Chocolate peppermint cake was requested. I've been seeing a few cakes this season using some very fancy snowflake cutters, but alas...I do not have the snowflake cutters, and besides, I wanted to play around with chocolate, not fondant.
So I did.
Chocolate cake, mint buttercream, gold and pearl dusted white chocolate piped accents .
A little wiggly in some spots, but I was very happy!
Guess who!!
Hey, I don't have black hair anymore.
Yes, a Hannah Montana doll is indeed supervising the action in the background. :)
Bonus: cutest photo EVAR
Kiddo got a guitar for Christmas. As you can see, it's a purple Hannah Montana guitar, natch. We had no idea she even wanted a guitar until the Sunday before Xmas. Mommy found this one marked down to $36 last minute, so Santa added it to his sleigh as he was heading out the door. ;)
I snuck this photo as she was "practicing" after dinner. Practicing means randomly strumming and plucking various notes, but it's cute nonetheless!
