I think my moment of movie mass is sometime around 1996 to 1997, depending on what month the movies were made in my birth year. :) Unless I used an incomplete listing of movies made, which is entirely possible, in which case this figure might be horribly wrong.
I wonder when I will have seen as many movies as were made before I was born.
Well, according to my Netflix history, I've already seen at least 40 movies in the last year and a half, not counting the movies I've seen in theaters and rented from other places. Admittedly, some of them are not feature length, ie. Wallace & Gromit: Loaf and Death at 30 minutes. If I recall correctly, my movie moment of mass hinged around 200 movies or so.* This could be way off base, but if it's correct, then I'm pretty well set on my way toward completion. :)
* It occurs to me that this is a reasonable number for figuring out how old someone might be.... XD
hmm well what is a movie? Does a 10 second short film someone made in their backyard count? What about youtube videos?
If you include either of these, I think you could define that moment somewhere around when personal, portable, and affordable video cameras came available to the public.
It definitely would requite a definition of a valid film. And one would have multiple moments of movie mass based on what you were considering...Though I think at the very least they have to have been publicly accessible at some point.
Also, of course, one must consider foreign vs your home land vs hollywood or what not.

Going off an 80(too short) year lifespan, and an average 90(too long?) minute length of a movie that's about 467,510 movies worth of time....
...That number is completely useless! But it is silly enough to state.
