I can't do this anymore. I feel like I'm drowning, being forced to stay and do things I don't want to do. It finally got to a point where I told my parents that I need to move out and they just said, "Whatever." They probably laughed at me, knowing I can't afford it right now

Let me guess; you're not allowed to drink alcohol, go out late with friends, have a curfew, only get the family car once in a while, vacations or trips consist of visiting relatives on the farm only, chores around the house that MUST be done, like laundry, dishese, dusting, vacumming.
I'm sure they don't allow you to have any friends over or, for that matter, only associate with friends they approve of.
Indeed, such a life is extremely frustrating.....

Friends... they tolerate until the friends are gone, then lecture me about how they're inappropriate (if they are).
