Enough is Enough

I can't do this anymore. I feel like I'm drowning, being forced to stay and do things I don't want to do. It finally got to a point where I told my parents that I need to move out and they just said, "Whatever." They probably laughed at me, knowing I can't afford it right now ( Read more... )

Make a plan. Decide what you need to do in order to be able to move out. And stick to it. MSG me on MSN sometime and we'll discuss.

I gather from your comments, then, that your parents must be like those highly conservative religious restrictive types.

Let me guess; you're not allowed to drink alcohol, go out late with friends, have a curfew, only get the family car once in a while, vacations or trips consist of visiting relatives on the farm only, chores around the house that MUST be done, like laundry, dishese, dusting, vacumming.

I'm sure they don't allow you to have any friends over or, for that matter, only associate with friends they approve of.

Indeed, such a life is extremely frustrating.....

Am I accurate?

Mmm... not quite. I can drink alcohol, but they don't like it. Any hard liquor... they give me nasty looks. I'm out late often, but it took -years- for my parents to stop bugging me about that. I took my first vacation without family last year, and the family car is available to myself and my sister (we have three). But yes... the chores must be done, else I get yelled at. A lot.

Friends... they tolerate until the friends are gone, then lecture me about how they're inappropriate (if they are).

So close....
