OMG I got a hammock tent the other day too, but I got one of the Clark Jungle Hammocks. I did heaps of research and it was down to the Clark or the Hennessey. In the end the Clark won because it had camo pattern (very sad I know, but I am a tad bit obsessed :p) I would be keen to hear more about how yours is. I find it sooo comfortable to sleep in (it is nice to go camping without waking up with a sore back!) but putting it up can be a bit of a bitch.
As for your dream, I am right there with you, although I have bought property with a small cottage on it that I am desperately trying to get off the grid and pay off quickly so I can quit working. The idea of living minimally is great and I have been trying to do that myself, but it is so difficult to give up 'stuff'
At present, I view new purchases as having a cost in terms of my ability (or lack thereof) to transport them easily, to be considered alongside fiscal considerations.
In between critically assessing the necessity of my own belongings, and collaborating with friends on the best way to live with a single carload of belongings, I'm very interested in learning more about your approach to minimalistic living :)

There is a camo hennessy -- it seem that the camo pattern costs more though (no idea why).
Tried it the past two nights and indeed it's very comfortable -- love the slight swinging motion as you fall asleep :)

Will post more about my "philosophy" of minimal living sometime soon.
