Head down

Very much buried myself in writing the new album at the moment. So far so good. I've got a lot of tracks at demo stage. Then possibly a few reworkings of things from the Dystopia CD. So I think I need to sit down now and work out what the structure of the album is going to be like, what songs I want on there and which songs I need to get ( Read more... )

A lot of people have asked me about Faktory. It's one of the "featured" tracks on the sistinas MySpace profile. Also, some one asked about Dystopia material being re-released at Bunker last Friday night. oh yeah, the reminds me, I got to Bunker very early and got to hear the DJs do their sound check. DJ Trauma used Electronic Battle Weapon and the COmbichrist Remix of Skullfuck for his sound check. :)

I probably get an email a week about Dystopia. It'd hardly be a limited edition if I kept on repressing it would it! I even saw a Russian site selling it the other day. :/

A lot of people seem to like Faktory. Might rework it for the album though.

Oddly enough, a lot of people seem to like Battle Weapon too. I was struggling to finish that for the EP. I couldn't decide whether to keep the 303 bits or not. I suppose in the great scheme of things it's more of a B-Side but the reaction has been great. Really popular track live.

Good luck.. that last stretch seems to be the hardest.

And if the time comes you're looking for the rem1x0rz let me know, I'd love to take a stab at one of your tracks. =]

Cool. Yup, I'd love a mix. Just thinking about what tracks to do now. Tim is doing a Phantom West mix of Faktory if you fancy that. A really noisy club mix would be awesome if you are up for that?

I agree on the tired thing, I've written some of my best code at 3am in the morning, it's almost like your brain clicks into 'the zone' and you do stuff that you'd normally have to think ages about on instinct.

Yup. It's almost like having a glass of wine or people having a smoke. So I figured I'd spend a week or two in a strange headspace coming up with ideas and then flesh them out and do the legwork at more sensible hours.

i know what you mean about being in a more creative state of mind when tired i used to do all my uni work overnight the day before it was due to be in as i couldn't get myself into the zone otherwise.

Yup I'd also agree with the 3am stint. It's a bit of a pain in the butt if you have to be up at 7 mind you, but quite a few times I have conjured inspiration that otherwise was just not happening.
