Double whammy last night...

I came home to find three envelopes, two containing notices that I'm being taken to collections for unpaid bills from the accident in July (the total is about $1200) and one containing my preliminary bill for the oral surgery I'm getting on Tue, which said that I will owe them $384 the day of. For the collections stuff... If AllState won't cover it at all, have you tried asking the collections people about a payment plan? I'm sure they'd love everything all in one lump sum, but they generally understand that people can't often DO that -- so see if they're willing to work out a payment plan with you.

Ask about the same for the oral surgery, maybe? I'm not sure what their policies are for that, obviously, but it never hurts to ask.

The thing about dealing with large bills (or, really, problems of most sorts) is seeing if you can cut them into tiny bite-sized portions. That makes them a LOT easier to deal with, from my experience.

It really is horrible that you have to deal with this crap. *Hugs* Let me know if there's anything I can do to help?

That's a hell of a lot to deal with at once. I'd... probably have curled into a ball already. It's good that you can keep your sense of perspective.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do.

Delete the emails and move on.

Removing impacted teeth costs a lot because they can accidentally break your jaw in the process. Because of this malpractice insurance for oral surgeons is quite high.
