“HOW DARE YOU….AAARGH!!”
J heard his brother shouting from the living room; he threw the covers off his body, grabbed the revolver he kept under his pillow and hurried out of the bedroom, looking over his back and around, expecting and intruder, or worse, an injured Kaoru.
Kaoru made all that fuss shouting at the television in the living room. The bastard was playing Modern Warfare online at four in the morning, knowing he had to go on a three-day assignment to the other side of the country in just a few hours.
“You haven’t gone to bed, have you? You’ve been shouting at that stupid box all night… get off and go to sleep.”
“I think not, brother… If it wasn’t for this prick who killed me with a headshot the last level, I would have already gotten the high score. I’ll sleep when I win.”
“If you don’t get any sleep now, you won’t get any. You have to drive to Fukuoka in less than three hours. Turn that junk off and sleep.”
Not budging, Kaoru turned his face to the screen once more and began another mission, hunting his enemies down one by one with vicious perseverance; it was only a game, but Kaoru always took it personal when he didn’t win easily.
“I DO THIS FOR A LIVING! BOW DOWN TO ME…. WHAT THE FUCK, JUN?! I WAS PLAYING!” Kaoru bellowed angrily when J unplugged the console, rolled up the cable and tucked it into the pocket of his sleeping pants, walking back to his bedroom.
“And I was sleeping, but you woke me up, you ass. Go to bed.”
“I’ll go to yours,” Kaoru declared petulantly, draining the last of a beer can and trudging after J, not amused at all by his brother’s stunt.
“You can sleep anywhere as long as you shut up and sleep.”
