yeah, you're characterisation is amazing. Your Sam has me hating and screaming and loving him in equal measures as the actual show. And the story is really compelling. And the 'thing' between Sam and Gene, I love how you write it, what the characters think of it and what it actually is. It's just so good.

Sums him up, I think. He's definitely not a flawless character, and I quite like exploring that.
Glad you like my Sam/Gene. It's always the hardest bit to get right!
Thanks for reading

Another bloody brilliant installment!

Your characterisations are tone-perfect, and you manage to capture the complicated Sam/Gene dynamics in all its messy glory.

Can't wait for the next episode...

You have managed to make the character inteactions feel so real it is brilliant especially Gene and his concern for Sam and Sam being unable to see that at first. The shift in their relationship is nicely portrayed as well.

Sam's rather blind in this, it's true, but Gene's not a transparent character and it's always hard to make him emotional given how closed he is in canon. It's not that he doesn't have emotions, it's just that he rarely expresses them openly. So I'm glad it worked in this for you.

I can't believe Sam couldn't see Gene's worry for him, I could. It was almost a physical thing creeping in across the page...beautifully done.

I'm so glad this is getting longer and longer, once finished, I hink I might have to sit and re-read it all as one. Fabulous.

It was pretty obvious that he was concerned, yes. I always think Gene worries about Sam, especially in canon, though he would never say it. Sam's obvliousness was a bit of a combination of his own preoccupation and Gene's lack of clear expression.
There shouldn't be too much to go, as I don't want to drag it out, but I still don't know how to get to the ending I have in mind! I hope it doesn't lose it half way through...
Thanks for commenting, it means a lot.
