Jack held him securely until they were well past the threshold, but the squirming became too much. He put Logan down and turned to close the door.

"You bring home a purse and an apron for me and I'll give you a pearl necklace," he said just as the door shut tightly.

"You don't know, I might look good in pearls," Logan replied with a playful grin. "We can talk jewelry later though, why don't you come sit down and I'll light the candles?" he suggested, nodding at the well set table.

When he caught sight of it, he was taken aback. He'd thought Logan was...well, not kidding, but not as serious as this. He'd actually gone to the trouble of setting the table well and he had candles and...

"Wow," he exhaled softly, unable to conceal his surprise at the gesture. "You weren't kidding about dinner. This is great, Logan."

"Not as great as a surprise wedding, but it;ll do," Logan replied, lighting the candles and then pulling one of the chairs out for Jack.
