It wasn't unusual for Jack to go out without him, but the hours just kept on ticking by, and Logan was getting more and more bored with every passing moment. He'd wanted to spend some time with the other man. Maybe go swimming or just sit out on the beach- But Jack apparently had other plans. Plans that didn't include him ( Read more... )

"The TARDIS," he beamed. He was on a high that only came from being able to do something he loved. "Daniel's friend Sam showed up and she's this genius astrophysicist and she's saved their team like a billion times and once I convinced her the ship wasn't a prop from a tv show...God, Logan, I had the best day. We talked about the quantum probability limits and the temporal physics and just everything," Jack gushed, unaware that his husband looked upset at all.

The TARDIS. Logan's face fell quickly, and he stared at Jack for a long moment, unsure of what to say.

It stung. No, that was an understatement. It hurt. It really hurt. When Jack had taken him to see the TARDIS, Logan had been sure he was special. That Jack was letting him into a place where few others got to go. It had been a huge deal to him.

But apparently to Jack it meant nothing.

Add to that the fact that Sunday was supposed to be there day, and Logan was gutted.

It shouldn't have been such a big deal, but it hit him hard, and for a moment he couldn't breathe, let alone speak.

"Glad you had such a great day," he said quietly, opening the doors to let the dogs in and quickly turning away from Jack.

"It was fantastic," Jack replied, following after Logan. "I really want you to meet Sam. She's great. I think you'd like her. Daniel told me she was a genius, but there's a difference between hearing about it and actually talking through it. She gave me a run for my money. The only advantage I had was that I've got three thousand years on her."

He chuckled softly and caught up, taking hold of Logan's arm. It was only then that he realized Logan was upset.

"Hey...what's wrong?"

"What's wrong? I dunno Jack, maybe it's the fact that you'll apparently take anyone to the TARDIS if you think it'll make them like you. I thought that meant something. I thought... I thought I was special. Stupid me, I didn't realize it was just one of your favorite date spots. ...Or maybe I'm upset because it's Sunday, and I've been waiting all day just to see you. Because it's our day. It's supposed to be our day, and you took some chick to see your spaceship. God, do you even think about this stuff before you do it? Or are you too busy grinning at whoever's caught your eye this week to consider for even a moment what your husband might think of what you're doing?"

His tone started off cold, but by the time Logan was done, he sounded like he was in pain. Like every word was cutting him up inside before it came out.
