Where do we stand now that McCain in officially in the running? It is a pretty safe bet that he will be the GOP nominee, and if I remember correctly, he has a mild liberal side, so can we pull it off? I shudder at the thought that Clinton/Obama might be up against him.

I love my job.

I love the University of Phoenix.

Latest polls actually show Giuliani with a double-digit lead on McCain from evangelicals. Interesting thing is that Giuliani is a pro-choice pro-glbt rights candidate, while McCain has been courting the hell out of the religious reich for most of his career. McCain is a political chameleon and a right bastard--the Republican equivalent of Hillary. He's also got about as much charisma as a wet sock. But he's a media darling, which might help him. Thing is, I don't think he can get the independent vote anymore, since he's been drifting so hard right lately. And without the independents, and without the evangelicals, he hasn't got a prayer ( ... )

The buzz out here is that McCain is running. All the old farts (A handful off WW2 vets, several Korea vets, and several Vietnam vets) who hang out at the store were shouting that we were finally gonna get someone who knows a lick about war (almost word for word) I knew Giuliani would be hard to be out east but he has to take the South and I think he is too "namby pamby" (a quote from the old farts this time) to rule the hillbilly contingent.

I do worry about the Hillary/Obama issue. I DO like some of what Hillary has to say. I like Edwards but he has no kahunas. Obama is a poster boy for the ACLU and NAACP, but he has no sustenance. After teh 04 election I see NO light at the end of the tunnel, other than the fact that Bush will be DONE. But there will be a predicessor (sp) and that can easily be worse than it is now...... Scary thoughts going through my head at the moment. Is there likely to be anymore (or any) strong Dem condidates?
