Disclaimer: I don't anything besides the plot.

The next time Jack saw Alex was at a bar downtown. It was a bit of a sketchy bar so he wasn't exactly surprised that Alex was allowed in.

Jack was on his second beer when Alex walked towards him, but Jack saw that he hadn't noticed him yet and because Jack was sitting at a table near the toilets he could only imagine where Alex was headed.

'Jack?' Alex said surprised before he plopped down next to Jack. 'Didn't think I would meet my favorite teacher here,' he laughed.

'Hey, Alex,' Jack smiled, shoving Alex away a bit because he was seriously too close for what would be considered allowed, him being his teacher and all, and who knew who was watching?

'What are you doing here?' Alex asked, sitting down next to Jack, still far too close but Jack could not be arsed to move him away.

'You know, drinking away my endless sorrows and whatnot,' he smiled, tipping the glass of beer in his hand.

'Sorrows? Can hardly imagine there being any sorrows in Jack Barakat's life,' Alex mused, a smug smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

Jack just hummed in reply, studying the way Alex's eyes were glossy, his lips red and partly swollen and if he only leaned in a bit closer their lips would touch. Jack wondered what would happen if he did it, how Alex would react, if his friends were watching and what would happen between the two of them.

'So who are you here with?' Jack asked, glancing around the bar to see if he could spot anyone that looked close to Alex's age.

'A couple of friends, but it looks like they left me,' Alex replied, his brows furrowing and face mixed up in confusion.

'Some friends you've got, huh?'

'They aren't that bad, just not your ideal crowd I guess,' Alex sighed, 'But they support me and have my back, and I don't really have any other friends to go to either.'

'Alex, look, let's get you back home. It's bad enough for me to even sit here and have a beer with you, I don't think we should cross anymore lines than we already have,' Jack said, chugging the last of his beer and pushing Alex out of his seat.

'But mr. Barakat, you cannot drive, you're drunk,' Alex smirked.

'I guess we'll take a cab then,' Jack mused, walking outside and up the street to find a cab.

They ended up in the back of a cab, Alex saying his address, and Jack smiled, knowing the home-y feeling it had.

'Wanna come inside?' Alex murmured into Jack's ear, shivers running down his spine. 'My parents are out of town.'

'I shouldn't,' Jack sighed, his hand moving to Alex's thigh, squeezing it firmly, his lips searching for Alex's neck.

'But I'll make you feel so good,' the younger boy replied, his hand moving under Jack's shirt and rubbing circles on his hips.

Jack hummed in reply, handing the cabdriver more than enough and stumbled out of the cab with Alex following after him.

Alex pressed Jack up to the wall, his hands fisting in the collar of Jack's shirt, lips pressing feverishly together, their tongues exploring each others mouths.

'Upstairs,' Alex panted, all but running up the stairs with Jack following after.

'Holy shit,' Jack said, dragging out the 'o' when he woke up the next morning to his student drooling on his chest. He panicked, and as much as he wanted to just lay there with Alex, he knew it was wrong.

'Don't leave,' a muffled voice mumbled and he soon felt the heavy weight from his chest as Alex sat up in the bed and took in the scene in front of him.

'I think it's for the best that I leave. Now,' Jack said quietly.

'Maybe, yeah,' Alex whispered as he saw the discarded items of clothing across his room, the smell of sex still present in his room.

Jack felt bad for the kid when he saw that he was clutching his comforter close to his chest, and his legs tucked underneath his chin.

'Let's talk about this later,' Jack said before he left.

*

When Jack had said "later", Alex thought it meant something like Monday. But Monday went to Friday, and suddenly there had been three Fridays and not a single word had been said.

Tutoring?

Jack didn't even show up. Didn't leave a message or tell him that he couldn't come.

Answering questions in class?

Sometimes Alex would raise his hand even though he didn't know the answer, only to be met by a cold glare and someone else to answer the question.

It was the following Wednesday that Alex had enough. He decided to confront Jack the one place where he couldn't really escape; his house.

It was with trembling feet and shaking hands that he walked up the path in front of Jack's house and knocked on the door three times.

Alex heard shuffling and things being moved before Jack was standing in the doorway.

'I .. I just need to talk to you, Jack,' Alex said, his eyes trained on a very interesting spot on the stairs.

'I know, but recently just haven't been a good time to talk. I'm sorry,' Jack said, his shoulders slumped as he opened the door to let Alex in.

'Want something to drink?'

'Do you have a beer?' Alex asked, smirking.

'I won't give you beer, we both know how that went the last time.'

A heavy silence settled and Jack wanted to slam his head repeatedly into the wall. He could see just how much he had hurt Alex by saying it, and he regretted it so much.

'Alex, I'm so sorry. That was a stupid thing to say of me,' he sighed, sitting down next to Alex who was looking at his lap.

'It's fine. We need to talk about this anyways, so stop apologizing.'

'Right.. Well, we obviously know that we can't continue our tutoring lessons,' Jack started before Alex cut him off.

'But I need those, and besides, I don't want things to get weird just because stuff happened,' Alex said, his cheeks flushed.

'We have to! And things are weird, and sleeping with you was a huge mistake on my behalf!'

'So you basically just used me - your student! - just because you were horny and knew that I really liked you? You knew that I would be like putty in your hands if you just smooth talked me enough?' Alex nearly shouted.

'We're forgetting one important factor here: you were the one who invited me inside. Yes, I was horny, but isn't that why people have sex? And no, I didn't use you. It was, as I said earlier, a mistake, and a huge one too.'

'So what do we do from now?' Alex resigned.

'Act normal. Date others, move on with our lives I guess. I don't know. We shouldn't make such a big deal out of it, it didn't even mean anything,' Jack said, a sigh escaping his lips.

Alex stood up from his chair, his hands clasping Jack's face as he pressed his lips against Jack's.

'Please tell me you felt that too. Please tell me that wasn't only me,' Alex said, tears prickling his closed eyes as he rested his forehead against Jack's.

'Please leave,' Jack whispered, his voice on the verge of breaking.

Alex sighed before standing up straight and walking out the door, and Jack just wanted Alex to maybe shout at him or throw things, just so he wouldn't feel so sad. So he could feel anything else than the sadness welling up inside him, because Alex wasn't the only one who had felt it.

A/N: So ... long time no see, huh? Don't even know if anyone remembers this one...
