傻瓜旅行 Travels of a fool (lyrics translation)
I remember posting another song by chinese folk singer Zhong Li Feng before, if you look at my tags, a song that I haven't listened in a long time but I think will forever be one of my favourites. Today, I am posting another of his songs. '傻瓜旅行 Travels of a fool' is the first track on his newest album released on the 24th. I was intrigued by the lyrics, and I wonder what did the inn-keeper's wife say to him.

I awake in an unknown inn
The inn-keeper’s wife still asleep
Flowers in the backyard blooming briskly
Like a group of young girls
I walk alone on the blue cobbled stone path
Along the direction of the water flow
In the mist, a black dog barks at me
As though I am an unwelcomed visitor
Not even a tint of joy in my heart
Nor any feelings of sadness
But I remember a question by the inn-keeper’s wife last night
Tears like falling rain
In the centre of Square Street stand two little girls
Waiting for the first horse carriage to take them away
The one with short hair has a handsomely face
Very much like my older sister
I love your eyes, my friend on the road
And their flickering as they dart back and forth
I put my thoughts of longing softly by your pillow
Like a fable
She said she will forget me very soon
Otherwise she would die of sorrow even sooner
But as I remember the words of the inn-keeper’s wife last night
