God out of the Conspiracy

I've been playing and replaying the first few levels of Deus Ex: The Conspiracy for ten hour stretches over the past four days because unfortunately, the gameplay is not completely open-ended as claimed. Any secondary objective, body augmentation or weapon mod that is missed cannot be backtracked to from a certain point, and the fact that they ( Read more... )

The Passion of The Christ is in theaters soon - this week on Wednesday.. what do you think about this movie? I'm going to see it for sure - the trailers were enough to convince me. I read somewhere that it's the widest opening ever for a subtitled movie; I have a feeling subtitles won't detract from the full effect of this movie though. After looking at the trailers which have no subtitles or english at all, it was reinforced for me that lack of spoken english in this film won't hurt one bit. To sum up my impression of The Passion: it's a work of art.

Another fascinating aspect to this movie is all the controversy that has been generated about it.
Some people, not really representative of Jewish people, but rather self appointed Jewish spokespeople, such as Abraham Foxman from the Anti-Defamation League, seem to have been attempting to denounce this film for months as being anti-Semitic. The news reported that they even stole the script last year! But here's what some Jews say (Jews who don't make it their job to ( ... )

PLC! Bone Orchard! A splendid song if I do say so myself. I'm so glad you've taken to the Pigmy's, they're a hard bunch to get used to, they are. But they're just too damn much fun to hate.

.This pleases us.

I didn't know the shitmary man was jewish. Neat.

Christian anti semites seem to be pretty self contradictory to me. How can you dislike something that 90% of your belief system is ripped off from? It's like loving John Williams and then turning around and hating Holst. All they did was put more pie in the sky and more guilt on the ground. Jesus never even intended his system to be for gentiles, so his fans should be glad the jews killed him.

There are two things I like about this movie. Number one is how unapologetic it is. We need more faiths making summer blockbusters about their mythic sagas without bowing and scraping to oversensitive sensibilities. Number two is how it finally signifies a change in pace in Mel Gibson, who up 'til now was stuck pretty deeply in the "Man flips out to save/avenge his loved ones" rut.

I'm sad to hear that Mel Gibson lost the battle to keep his movie unsubtitled. If I ever do watch it I'll keep my eyes on the prize.

P.S., are you an actual person, or a 'bot Kyle? Either option fascinates me.

I did as you told, and read your friend's LJ about your night on the town. It was a fun read, with many silly hi-jinx and antics. My favorite quote:
"Soon after, he left to go stick his cock in his girlfriend's cunt in the next room, orgasmed, fell asleep, and woke up the next day."
HA!!
But, I don't recall us "playing" "Power Stone" that night. I'm pretty sure I was asleep when you and Pete got back from your walk... But hey, who said I have to be awake for Power Stone?.::shrugs::.
