For the most part, though, I only store cooked rice for a couple of days in the rice cooker's "keep warm" setting, which keeps it pretty hot...
Noooooo... (just from an energy efficiency standpoint, but read on...) No foods, especially 'high risk' foods such as meat, dairy and rice, should be 'kept warm' for more than 2 hours. Nor should you re-heat food more than once. Bacterial populations can double every 15 minutes, and thrive at temperatures in the range 5 - 65 deg C. All food should be either very hot (> 70 deg C) or (preferably) chilled (< 5 C) if not being eaten immediately.
The particular problem with rice is Baccilus cereus which can cause projectile vomiting. You really don't want to mess with this stuff :-)
In other news... why don't you run - don't walk - to where-ever you need to go to find out exactly how and when you can register for an absentee ballot in the USA elections? I presume you're not a registered party member, and therefore can't take part in the candidate nomination process.
