Reading technical articles over at Kuro5hin.org, a fascinating interview with one of the designers of European currency convergence got my attention. It's entitled Complementary currencies for social change.

I think you probably will have to take a greater interest before you see anything come of it. I joined my local LETS as soon as I moved here, but nothing seemed to happen for ages... it's important to remember that social interaction is absolutely necessary for the smooth running of such things. All the will in the world, and paper documentation with contact details, doesn't make anything happen without actually talking to people and getting to know them!

Go thee, and make contact - find out how the system is getting along at the moment. Be prepared to get involved immediately helping it run better :-)
