children, children, while the campus itself might be described as...nice? Mercer is undeniably LODGED IN THE GHETTO, where you will find very little beauty

Ah, but Emily--that contributes to the beauty! You walk on lovely sidewalks amongst brick buildings. There are trees planted in the middle of the road. Then you go off campus approximately one block, and you get to talk to homeless people. It kind of goes hand-in-hand with Mercer's dumb required class policy--they want everyone to be ridiculously well-rounded.

oh but dorothy i can think of five other college campuses i have seen with my eyes that just beat the crap out of mercer. i just figure the students that they polled are all from central GA and have never been north of tennesee or west of alabama. (not stereotyping everyone at mercer though! i do know that some people actually come from places near and far to go to mercer...not knowing that they are stepping into a cultural bear trap.
