So this? Technically awesome. I mean, it's FFVI characters in 3D, controllable, and specifically it's Esper!Terra in 3D, and the part of my childhood brainstem that's hooked on the etherealness and alien wonder that is Esper!Terra - the transformation into this lightlike being of magic, the liminality of being half-human, half otherworldly entity ( Read more... )

Well. A point can be made that 'mindless fighting game' has a wee bit more cachet than 'mindless track and field game', lol.

Dissidia's current character roster is what primarily perturbs me. Way to pay heed to your rich lore by choosing all the "leads" of every game, right? I suppose there's the chance some characters are currently secret but way to seem superficial from the get-go! Ughgh ... I guess I would try Dissidia but I've got way too many other things to support with my $, or maybe?

Hmm. I pretty much gave up on the FF series after FFX, mainly because I realized I was getting less further and further into each game in the PSX series with the exception of FFVII. FFVIII was a struggle to finish, FFIX I lost interest in just before the final part, FFX I stopped dead at the Calm Lands, and I haven't really bothered much after that. A brief swing at FFXII, but I lost interest a few hours in. FFVII I actually liked. I think I played FFI, FFIV, FFVII, FFVI in that order.

...I see Esper Terra had a similar effect upon you as it had upon me. Where Celes was your favorite, Terra was my favorite by far.
