Date: Um, around 2 weeks after Yukimura arrived?
Who: Ryuuzaki Sakuno and Yukimura Seiichi
Rating: PG for nibbles, but it's really nothing bad, so kind of close to just G.
What: Bonding over the gardens before Yukimura totally starts to show how devious he is... orz
Author's comments: We are slightly delayed XD;;;;
Yukimura was getting rather used to the area now. The school was a little big, especially as it was split into the day and night school, but it wasn't a complex layout. The gardens were especially easy to find though, even if he wasn't supposed to be anywhere near the school during the day. He'd found himself being unable to sleep though, so had ventured out... perhaps hoping to see if any of the humans were wandering around - begging to be a little snack. Yes, the rules said they weren't supposed to do that, but Yukimura rather found himself a little above the rules.
If he played safely, no one would know it was him.
He hovered near a lily in the garden, fingers gingerly sliding down the stem as he smiled at the plant. Flowers always looked more beautiful during the day, so he rather fancied afternoon walks quite often.
Sakuno was tending to the gardens are usual. With the club activities quite quiet lately thanks to the decline in members she was used to the solitude of working alone. It was just as nice as working with others sometimes, the flowers kept her plenty of happy company after all. She wanted to enjoy the majority of the plant life while it was still all smiling back at her as soon enough they would begin to whither with the coming of a new season.
The clueless Day Class girl continued to water a few of the geraniums and other assorted flowers nearby so lost in her daily rituatl she didn't sense the other presence there.
She had not only adjusted to the differences in her club lately but also the fact that the Night Class was full of vampires. It was something only a few of the Day Class students still knew and even they weren't identified to all of the Night Class students.
However she knew that they were out protecting them and all only wanted to get along really; at least in her mind of ideals that was how it seemed. She was never a distrusting person after all and tried to believe and see the good in every individual. Sure she had had negative experiences being attacked and chased by those stranger creatures called Level Es, but they were definitely not the same as her classmates. And she was careful never to make that assumption or think of them any differently than the people they were to her; not monsters at all.
She might have not sensed Yukimura, but she was only a human - or so he thought anyway. Even her footsteps sounded loudly to him, even if they were only light. He let go of the flower he was touching instantly and straightened up. Normally he wouldn't stick around, but the girl nearby was obviously happily in her own world. Slowly, his tongue edged to the front of his mouth before he pushed it back. No one else, as far as he could tell, was around.
He pushed himself forward until he was at the flowers next to the girl. "They're rather beautiful, ne?" He gave her a smile as well.
Pulling out all the charm he knew he had, he pushed into Sakuno's bubble of personal space a little more. "The flowers." The day class, as far as he was aware, was rather unsuspecting to their kind. He could easily cover her mouth, take a quick bite and alter her memory... No one would know.
But him.
She almost jumped as she was in her own little world tending to the flowers, but managed to stop herself when she glanced over to the person who was now addressing her. His smile was sincere, at least to her, and his words as well easily disarmed her from any alert. Even though it was clear he was a Night Class student from his uniform she didn't feel any apprehension being around a vampire.
"Oh, why yes they are." she smiled back, finishing her watering and setting the can down so she could speak with the boy properly. "I try to make sure they continue smiling every day." Sakuno said thoughtfully, as she turned her attention to the flowers once more to admire them. She by no means ever took credit for their beauty but simply was happy to have taken part in making sure they continued to thrive. When it came to the subject of the gardens and flowers the Day Class girl was easily distracted from any possible danger she could truly be in.
"It shows," Yukimura commented softly, "they're blooming even with the weather starting to turn." It wouldn't last for too much longer, but would hopefully be long enough to enjoy. Spring wouldn't be for another number of months, Autumn and then Winter would kill most of the plants in the garden -- but then they would bloom all over again. "The circle of life is rather extroadinary, ne?" He kept his voice nice and gentle too, making sure he gave off the air of a kind person. Even if he didn't know she knew about his kind, it was worth knowing that she would only see a good image of him.
For now.
"Do you have any other hobbies?" Yukimura tilted his head to look at her, pushing a strand of hair behind his ear as he waited for the answer. He didn't really care but... being bored and stuck mostly at the school until he managed to get his bearings meant he had to talk to someone.
"It is." Sakuno agreed with him simply, smiling as well. It was always a pleasure for her to not only meet fellow plant lovers but also ones as pleasant as the student before her. Even taking the time so early for the Night Class students to come and admire them was impressive to her.
"Other hobbies?" she blinked, not quite expecting the subject to turn to her so suddenly. She tilted her head a little, having to contemplate it for a quick moment before responding. "I suppose other than this it would probably be baking." she answered with a smile. It still felt a bit strange being put on the spot so suddenly and without even knowing other's name. And that was when she realized that she hadn't even introduced herself to the boy. Her cheeks blushed a faint pink for a moment as the realization flushed over her and she bowed her head a little as if in apology. "Oh, excuse me I haven't even introduced myself, my name's Ryuuzaki Sakuno it's a pleasure to meet a fellow garden enthusiast."
Yukimura actually let out a soft chuckle when Sakuno blushed a little. He was playing his part well, apparently, as she didn't seem to suspect a thing. "Aa? What do you like to bake?" Some people made cookies, some made cakes, some made actual meals that were baked, it was always nice to act interested anyway. That did make him wonder for a second though as he hesitated on telling her his name. Then again, he could alter her memory later if needed. Today was about getting to know the girl... maybe.
"I forgot as well, Ryuuzaki-chan." His smile widened. "Yukimura Seiichi." He bowed his head a little in return though, trying to keep the facade up. "Plants are wonderful, I always used to be in the garden at home."
It wasn't exactly home though, of course. Yukimura hadn't been home in quite a while. Sakuno definitely didn't need to know that though, as it would give far too much away.
She tried her best to smile through the slight embarrassment, knowing the chuckle was brought on by her. Sakuno was quite used to reactions like that, though at least now they didn't make her doubly as embarrassed; most times anyway. "Oh, well... quite a lot of things I guess. But really whatever others enjoy, since it's more fun to make things for others than myself." The girl went quiet for a moment after looking to Yukimura. She wanted to say she would be delighted to bake him something if he wanted her too as well but figured that may be presumptuous of her.
"I see... I'm sure your home must have had a lovely garden then." she commented instead. "You're more than welcome to visit the gardens on campus or tend to them if you enjoy that as well. I run the school's Gardening Club but you don't need to be a member to enjoy them in whatever way you wish."
It was nice speaking with a Night Class student again as it had seemed like so long since she was last able to speak with one about the plants and in the garden no less. Her previous friends had to return home no doubt thanks to the complications that had arisen since she began attending school-- or really found out about the vampires. It was still quite difficult for her to imagine sometimes and she easily forgot; like now when she was alone with Yukimura.
"That's rather selfless of you." Yukimura's lips twitched as he had to hold back another chuckle and smile. The poor girl was going to really think he was laughing at her for real if he kept doing that. It wouldn't help the ideas he was conjuring in his head if he did or said the wrong thing. Thinking about baking did give a taste for something sweet though, which wasn't all that common for him. It made him glance at her from the side, wondering what the taste of her blood was like.
Would it be sweet?
His tongue chipped his lip before he shoved the organ back into his mouth and instead gave her a charming smile. "It wasn't bad, no." He closed his eyes to imagine it while he had the chance. It wasn't his garden he was thinking of though. It was someone in particulars. Someone he was under cover for and had been working under for a while now.
Coming to the garden always was so peaceful though. So for a while, at least, he could forget his 'mission' and just relax a little. Unwind.
"It's how I've always seen it so I wouldn't really call it selfless." she blushed slightly, noticing him about to chuckle again. She didn't take it as him laughing at her at all, in fact she was quite flattered by his compliments of her character. Not that Sakuno ever saw it as such, in a way she felt a little selfish always doing things for others because it made her feel good-- at least she believed something like that seemed selfish. But either way she stood by what she did which was put others before herself. The girl was simply glad to be able to have such a pleasant conversation with another in the gardens no less.
She tilted her head slightly as he seemed to remember back to what she assumed to be his home garden. As if she too could get a glimpse of it she closed her eyes for a moment as well and instead imagined her own small garden back home. But for someone like a Night Class student her garden there must have seemed so inadequate. After all it was nothing like the ones on the school campus which she felt privileged to be able to work on. At least no matter what the size though they all had one thing in common-- their simple, calming beauty.
The only problem with closing his eyes to see, Yukimura's other senses were strengthening a little to make up for the loss of sight. He could smell Sakuno, barely five feet from him, like he could smell his own hair. It was close and it made him want a taste. So far though, he was holding out. He couldn't afford to let his position be known, and if he slipped up he'd be in lots of trouble.
Instead of taking a nibble, he let his eyes open again to glance around the garden. The plants all looked beautiful, of course, but it wasn't only those he was paying attention to. "You're doing a good job here, if it's all your hard work that has made this garden what it is." He smiled at the far side of the garden, noticing that they were alone... and paused. "Have you ever been to the public gardens like these before?"
Her eyes fluttered open again at the question, realizing that she had almost begun daydreaming. She glanced over to him with a small, slightly embarrassed smile again, and nodded. "Oh, if you mean the one in town I have visited it a few times. Though I can't say I've been to any grand ones outside of here before. These are about the largest ones I've seen." Though she did hope she could see others in her lifetime. Size never really mattered but to be able to see the grand gardens of the world would have been a dream come true.
"Have you seen them, Yukimura-san?" she asked back, curious about what a Night Class student, or rather a vampire had seen. They all seemed to be quite wealthy and well traveled so she couldn't help being a little curious herself.
"Aa," was the only answer Sakuno received for a moment as Yukimura contemplated this. Or at least pretended to. "I've seen a few, yes." It wasn't for very long though, and usually it was at night. It didn't really compare to the sight of a garden during the day. It was always in passing too.
"I'm sure you'll get to see them one day. If I could, I'd show you the one I am most familiar with." He tucked a strand of hair behind his ear and faced her. "It's a lovely and calming place to sit for a while. Especially laying on the grass, watching the birds fly above you." That was something he missed, actually.
Saying that, it was usually spoiled by some vision or other, he just hoped he wouldn't get one of those while in the presence of this human.
"Oh my, that does sound lovely." she blinked, as if in awe of seeing it. But even if she couldn't she could imagine by the way he spoke about it; she could hear his fondness for it in his words even if only slightly as he gave off a kind demeanor already. "I doubt the small ones here measure up but I'm glad you've found them and do hope you continue to enjoy them." she offered simply, since it seemed like it was all she really could offer him. She felt a bit bad about that but she had mad the Gardening Club for that purpose-- to be able to help ease others even if just in a small way.
"Mm," Yukimura hummed softly and glanced at his watch to check the time. "It's not as big here, but it's big enough. If you have time, would you care for a walk? It might be nice to see it all with such lovely company." It wasn't too close to midday, so he could get away with it. The sun might prickle a little, but it was easy to deal with at the moment. "If that isn't asking for too much, of course."
It might be an idea to join this Gardening Club though, if only to see someone who was this peaceful. It was a large difference to the Night class at the moment, what with him getting there and suddenly Atobe had gone missing. He knew to where and what had happened, of course, but he hadn't told anyone that. He'd lie everytime and just say he couldn't see it. No one really understood how his ability worked anyway.
"A walk? Of course, I'd love to show you around." Sakuno smiled brightly, setting down her tools and dusting herself off a little. "I'm sorry I'm a bit of a mess, I was in the middle of regular club work, heh." she laughed lightly at herself and stood up. Though she paused and looked out at the sky wondering if he would be okay. She remembered the Night Class was sensitive to the sunlight even if it wasn't the peek of the day.
"Ano... will you be okay to though, Yukimura-san? I don't want you to get burned since there's not as much shade throughout it all." she frowned slightly, a little concerned for him. She admired that he wanted to go see the rest of the garden and was out already despite it but she didn't want him to get hurt at all.
Yukimura did blink at her question, unaware that she knew about his kind. In fact, he stared at her for a moment, trying to work it out, and instead only commented on the first half of her dialogue instead. "You're fine, it's only me here, it's not like I'm worried about soil on your clothing. It just shows you really do love these gardens, ne?" Being two faced as he was though, he did almost cringe at the mud smeared in specs across her clothes though. If only because having lived with Atobe's father for a while... well it kind of sticks to you.
It gave him time to word his question next though. "Why wouldn't I be? It's not that sunny today."
Sakuno smiled at that, though she did still feel a bit silly going for a walk while there was still a bit of dirt on her clothes. Though she wasn't as concerned about her looks as Tomoka was she wasn't exactly fond of getting her clothes dirty. Perhaps she would consider wearing an apron next time in case other people wanted to go out after her club work like Yuuta...
But that all was besides the point when she noticed his small reaction and as he answered her. She covered her mouth for a moment realizing she had let it slip that she knew. Not that she was afraid of him knowing but that she may have been rude for saying so. "Suimasen, I just wanted to make sure..." she bowed her head a little in apology.
Aprons were definitely good for gardening. If only so her clothes wouldn't end up stained from all the dirt and grime that came with it. Luckily, Yukimura was an excellent liar and just kept looking at her face - only with his head tilted to the side a little now he was starting to work something out.
"Sure of what, Ryuuzaki-san?" He kept smiling softly though, eyes creasing shut as he made sure he did look confused. "We're friends now, aren't we? I don't mind."
"O-Of course, I'm sorry for making a strange assumption." Sakuno bowed her head a little again. It had been rude of her to say as much, at least she assumed so now. He was just trying to be friendly and she could imagine that mentioning their weakness to sun wasn't something they liked to call attention to. The girl hadn't even considered the fact that she obviously knew something she normally shouldn't being the thing lost in their communication. It still seemed like just a condition to her at times and not as if they were a completely different species after all. Not that she would come out and tell him she knew he was a vampire, since she was aware of at least the fact she shouldn't go around saying it out loud.
"Not at all. Shall we then...?" He took a step in the direction of the longest path, making sure to keep his senses alert to everything around him. Especially if he planned on having a tester nibble. Sakuno looked rather tasty, after all. He had to keep reminding himself to stay in control though, even if the temptation was rather strong.
He did hold out his arm for her to loop hers through though, if only so they could easily keep each other's pace that way. Something not too fast to enjoy the scenery.
She didn't need to tell him that she knew what he was though, or at least so his mind was telling him. He closed his eyes for a brief second and let his ability kick in. Firstly to see how she would react if he did give in to temptation, and secondly how much fun he could have with that fact. Knowing she knew what he was though... may make it easier, or harder.
Sakuno nodded, glad she hadn't seemed to upset him at least. Noticing the arm offered to her she smiled a little and looped hers through his, something she had done with the first Night Class student she had met actually. It made her feel a little nostalgic and at ease even, not that she ever had her guard up around school in the first place even if locking arms with a vampire. There was something to be said about how carefree she was and how little she concerned herself with that fact. In the past she had been attacked a few times but never quite figured it out so there was little to say it couldn't possibly happen again, even if this time she would be able to figure out what was responsible for it.
Or so she thought she'd be able to figure it out, anyway. He had no idea she'd already been attacked, so if he did do something, he'd be putting himself at risk. What he had in mind was nothing more than a pin-prick though really. Hopefully.
Yukimura did pat her arm when she slid hers through his and turned to smile at her. The garden in this direction was lovely. "Do you have a favourite area?" He asked her softly, though, if only to keep up this atmosphere. He was slowly starting to get an idea of what to do for today, but it was likely it would happen when they had done a complete circle and ended up back in the same place as before.
"I rather like the different types over there," he raised his hand to point in a North-East direction.
The pat on her arm was pleasant though a bit cold, similar again to the last time she had gone out with a Night Class student. It was only slightly but enough for her to sense now that she was used to it. She shook off those thoughts once more though as he called attention to her again.
"A favorite area?" she blinked and glanced up to him. “I suppose it’s the cherry blossom trees by the gates of the school.” She didn't get to see the too often lately and soon enough they would be withering but during the spring they had been absolutely gorgeous. "I didn't plant them but I helped to make sure they stayed vibrant; it was always pleasant walking to the school building every day with them blooming. It reminded me of home." Because the path along her old school back home was lined with them and each season they were something to behold.
“Over there?” Sakuno questioned, turning her head to glance over to where he was motioning. "Ah, yes they are quite lovely. Would you like to go have a better look?" she smiled, though was still a bit worried as it was brighter along the way there. Thankfully the area itself was shaded and a bit more secluded thanks to the large bushes and trees. It was a nice place to relax or take a nap and enjoy the quiet.
"Ah, really?" Yukimura feigned interest as they walked along the path. The flowers themselves were radiant, especially as it was during the day when he was rarely out to see them. "I suppose that does make sense though." He gave her a pleasant smile and patted her arm with his other hand. "They are rather nice while in bloom, ne?"
He did walk in the direction of where he had pointed to, however, if only to make this more enjoyable for himself. It would end up being rather delicious later... but for now it was rather dry. Even if the topic was plants. "Mmm, just for a little while." He did glance up at the sun himself, only to cringe slightly as his hair was no longer protecting his face as much that way. If only because it made him feel irritable and itchy rather than it being painful.
"A walk around this area would be nice anyway. We shouldn't take too long, as I suspect you will need to head back to your dorm at some point..."
Sakuno couldn't help notice him glance up at the sun momentarily. It made her frown a little, to see it affect him so negatively as she had seen other Night Class students react the same in the past. Sure glancing at the sun was something painful for humans sometimes as well but it made their sensitivity it all the more apparent. Yet still she pushed aside her thoughts of him as another species and offered her usual smile as they approached the blooming flowers ahead of them. It was nice and shaded there and neither of them would have to worry much about the sun there.
"So long as I don't keep you from classes either but thankfully curfews have become a bit more lenient all around so it's not something to worry about too much." she couldn't help saying as they arrived. "And I quite enjoy seeing the gardens at night too even if I can't appreciate the flowers as much." There was something about the moonlight hitting them sometimes that was simply magical and something the sun could never recreate.
"Don't worry about me," Yukimura actually laughing faintly for a moment, trying to ease her a little. "I'm new here, so I can still use the excuse of getting lost." The school itself could be rather confusing with all it's corridors, so at least for the first few weeks he could say something like that.
"Mm, flowers are rather wonderful at any time of day, I agree." He paused as he stepped closer to the flowers and lightly ran his fingers over a petal, leaning to smell the same flower after. "Though I do admit, seeing them at this time of day is even better, when they're all open to the sun." Even if the sun hated their kind, it was always a pretty sight.
"I suppose I could always come by at night to see them then as well though, if you'd like to observe them then?"
"That's quite true, I still get a bit lost sometimes." Or rather all the time but even she wasn't fully aware of how easily turned around she became; namely still in town. Within the school gates she was fairly safe from getting too lost unless she ventured around at night, but that was true for any Day Class student. So it was no surprise that any new student, Day or Night Class, had problems getting around for the first week or so. "I'm glad you were able to find the gardens though." she couldn't help saying. People were usually looking for buildings to guide them and rarely stopped there after all.
Sakuno blinked as he posed the invitation, but soon smiled. "Of course, that sounds lovely." As if she could ever pass up a chance to enjoy the gardens day or night.
"Ah, you do?" Yukimura's voice lifted a little at the end, curiosity sparking... though it probably wasn't for the reasons she would think it was. To him, she was more like a lost lamb in that sort of situation, far too tempting, obviously. "It must be rather difficult for you then."
He hummed softly and turned to look at her rather than the plants, eyes shutting as he smiled. "I can meet you here another day then?" Of course, she might change her mind later, but he could always try at least...
It wouldn't be too difficult to twist her memories of him if needed.
"Absolutely, I come almost every day at some point for club or just to enjoy the view myself." Sakuno smiled back. She didn't sense any ulterior motives in the boy and only caught the surface of what he had shared with her-- that he was a fellow garden enthusiast. "Perhaps an evening soon, I believe a full moon is coming up after all." Which meant a great view of the flowers even in darkness. Though that wouldn't matter much to a vampire who could see in the dark but well, the simple girl had all but forgotten that fact in her excitement of meeting someone who enjoyed nature as well.
"I can lead you back to the school building whenever you would like though." she still offered even though her sense of direction wasn't always the best. She didn't want to make him late for anything since he was a new student and all but also wasn't trying to rush him either.
"I don't blame you." Yukimura glanced back at the flowers to prove his point, touching them with a soothing expression on his face now. It was much calmer when not many people were about - especially near the gardens. "Indeed. If you're free on the night of the full moon then?"
He did shake his head at her offer though, chuckling softly. "I can make it back just fine, so don't worry about that. I'll just feign some kind of illness for the night." He forced himself to look a little sheepish.
"Yes, I'll definitely be free." she smiled brightly, nodding her head with a bit of vigor. Planning to visit the gardens with anyone was always somewhat exciting for her as silly as it seemed.
"If you're sure." Though she was concerned about him missing classes it still seemed early enough even if the sun had just about set. She had hardly noticed how late it was getting thanks to all of their pleasant conversation. It was a bit of a shame but it also meant there would be the next day to enjoy things or whenever they met again. After all she had to look on the brighter side of everything since there always was on as far as she was concerned. "Though I believe I should head back soon, I didn't realize it was almost getting dark. That's when I do normally get a little lost, heh." she laughed lightly, admitting her usual weakness of direction.
Yukimura actually allowed a small chuckle to slip out at her admitting that she was more easily lost in the dark. Hopefully she wouldn't take it as what it really was, but only him taking a small bit of humour out of it. "Maybe I should be the one walking you back then, ne?" He tilted his head up to look in the direction of the sun again, but this time it was no where near as awkward for him as it had earlier.
"I wouldn't want you to get lost because of me." He did glance back in the direction of the school, then towards the main gates with the two paths towards each dormitory. "It wouldn't take too long to walk you there, if needed."
"O-Oh no, I couldn't trouble you with that!" she panicked a little, realizing her small folly. "I'm sure I'll be quite alright and I don't want to interrupt your enjoyment of the garden or the rest of campus if that was where you were heading after." Sakuno rambled slightly flustered for imposing on him in any way since she had meant to only help him in the first place and not the other way around. Though it seemed that was always the way things turned out when she was with anyone; so curious...
As it began to get dark it was also clear that no one was around as the procession of students had already greeted the Night Class and the Day Class students had all but returned to the dorms or headed to town by now. Though the gardens never had much activity it always all but ceased when the sun went down as there was definitely nothing for the humans to see.
Oh dear, the poor girl probably didn't realise that Yukimura really did have ulterior motives either, especially if the smile on his face was utterly faked to perfection. "I wouldn't have offered otherwise, would I?" He chuckled and actually reached out to pat her head gently for that. "It's not far, and I'm genuinely curious to see the difference in the dormitories, actually."
That and he had a plan.
"Is there anything you need to pick up before we walk back, then?" He wasn't giving her much of a chance to protest fully either... "Otherwise we can start walking and hopefully catch the cherry blossom trees during sunset."
"I-I see... well then if you insist." she couldn't help blushing a little at her blunder but glad that she hadn't imposed on him. She dusted herself off lightly one more time as they had been kneeling to look at some of the flowers before and she wanted to make sure she patted off any dust.
Standing she smiled at him and shook her head. "No, I have everything I need and the tools are where they need to be for tomorrow." As she was ever the dedicated little gardener for the school despite any dangers that lurked outside or within the school gates. "I'm ready whenever you are, Yukimura-san."
Turning on his heel, Yukimura started to head towards the gates, keeping their arms hooked together to make it seem like they had known each other a while, really. It was a way to be polite, yes, but still... Nonetheless, it was rather comfortable playing his part of a charming Night class student, even if he was working for Atobe's father. He was technically the bad guy in all of this, yet here he was, chaperoning a young human back to her dormitory. Then again, it was for a tiny taste.
He'd only graze her, but it was to make sure she was going to be worth the effort for later.
"Then let's head back."
Sakuno thought nothing of him escorting her back or how closely they were linked thanks to his efforts in hooking their arms together. It was just a very gentlemanly gesture to her and Yukimura was just a very polite person like all the Night Class students she had met before.
"Thank you for walking me like this, even though I was the one trying to help you adjust you seem to be helping me out more." she laughed lightly as they began to move from the security of the garden towards the path. Not that she realized, or even really would, that she was not safe so long as she was by the vampire's side.
Well, it was gentlemanly as well, which is precisely why Yukimura was doing it. It was to make her feel safe and not threatened. "No need to thank me, Ryuuzaki-san." Yukimura kept the smile in place, keeping up the image... it would only be for a little longer after all. "Though I wouldn't think of it like that at all, it just gives me a chance to spend more time with a new friend, ne?"
He did lead her towards the cherry blossom trees on the way out though, eyes taking in their beauty as the sun started to disappear.
Of course, that only meant the pangs of hunger were slowly starting to creep up on him too.
Sakuno was about to reply but as they arrived at the cherry blossoms she couldn't help being distracted by them. She hadn't ever really seen them at this time of day; usually just in the mornings or sometimes when the sun had already set. Seeing them as the sun was setting with the blazing colors of the day disappearing beneath a blanket of darkness was almost entrancing. The light danced off the delicate petals of the blossoms as if they were fluttering butterflies.
"So beautiful." she commented finally, trying not to let herself get too distracted by them enough to forget her company.
The cherry blossoms were beautiful, she was right about that. Yukimura was rather glad he'd found someone to prey on who had a similar interest too. Yes, he had a job to do while at the school, but that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy his time there while it lasted.
"Mmm..." While she was distracted though he kept walking her through the trees and then finally through the gate in the direction of the dorm. If only so he wouldn't have to climb back over it again later. It was time for the Day class to be leaving before the Night class came through, so at least at this time it was easy to walk Sakuno back. It was also late enough that they had missed most of the crowd too though, which was lucky when they made it to the courtyard out front.
Despite not wanting to be too lost in the sight of the trees she found herself simply being led along by the other rather than just walking of her own will. So wherever he brought her she simply followed along while admiring the colors of the flowers. It was probably so easy for her to because she all but fully trusted the other fellow garden lover now and because there was no one really around to distract her thoughts between the two. She went silent for a few more moments as she looked at the trees.
Having her trust him to this extent was proving overly useful at the moment, especially as she still seemed in awe of the trees. While glancing at them himself, out of her line of sight, he let a darker smirk cross his lips for a split second, before the pleasant smile was back in place. "It would appear that we've arrived quicker than I expected." He let his arm untangle from hers, but instead of letting go, he reached down to clasp her hand over his, bringing it to near his lips.
"It has been a pleasure," he smiled again as he kept his eyes on hers, finally pressing his lips to the back of her hand...
...only to graze a fang over the skin, pricking and puncturing it enough so a few droplets of blood formed on the surface. His tongue swiped over the liquid, just catching it with the tip of his tongue.
"Thank you, Yukimura-san." she smiled back to him as they arrived. She couldn't help blushing as he suddenly took her hand and brought it to his lips. It was treatment she never seemed to get used to even if it was only a polite gesture.
But just as his lips touched her hand warmly a moment later she felt the odd prick and held herself back from jerking away. Instead she winced slightly from the pain knowing it had been enough to possibly draw blood. Though instead of being concerned that she was close to being bitten she tried to pretend as if nothing had happened. It was just an accident maybe, perhaps he was hungry or tired and his fangs simply surfaced without his control. Or at least that was what she tried to reason in her mind even though her instincts from past experiences told her to get out of his grip and escape to the safety of the dorm. But she wasn't going to let that get the better of her; Yukimura wouldn't do that to her she was almost certain even though they had only just met.
So she wasn't going to mention it or pull away? Interesting. Yukimura flicked his tongue over the skin again, catching any remaining blood and pulled his mouth away with a tiny smile. "You're welcome." He let her hand go and raised his own to his mouth, clearing his throat a little to push down the need to bite and take more.
He had to remember to play nice.
"I'll see you soon, Ryuuzaki-san. Take care." He did bow a little this time, not moving any closer in the slightest, he was actually going to make sure she got into the building alright. Her taste had been rather sweet, meaning the plans that he was already thinking of might come into play later to cure boredom.
It took her a few moments to fully react. She stood there for a moment, holding her grazed hand gently and then managed a small smile back to him as she finally got a grip on reality again. "Y-Yes, you as well Yukimura-san." she managed, though her voice trembled ever so slightly. It was clear that she was still a bit nervous about all that had happened in the few seconds her hand had been taken from her.
Slowly, she took a few steps back and finally bowed low in parting as she spun on her heel and then headed inside the dorm. Though as she arrived at the door she hesitated for a moment before grabbing the handle. Instead of using her dominant hand, the one which had nearly been bitten, she used her other to open the door and headed inside, placing the other hand behind her back as if hiding it in case anyone spotted her as she disappeared into the building.
Sakuno still wasn't completely certain of what had all happened but she assured herself that it had merely been an accident as the Night Class boy hadn't called attention to it either. The fact he had tasted her blood hadn't even really crossed her mind and frankly she was just concerned about getting back to her room and finishing up some reading homework before bed: one of the best ways to try and forget whatever had happened. Then when she saw her new friend again everything would definitely be back to normal so long as no one noticed the small cut which would no doubt be healed in no time.
To be honest, her nervousness was amusing. Really quite amusing, actually. He had to squish that down so he wouldn't call attention to the fact that he had bitten her on purpose. It was oh so tempting to give in, too. What with the way her voice trembled as she spoke.
"Of course." Yukimura's lips twitched, but he managed to stop himself from letting a rather cruel smile form, that would give him away after all. Instead, he watched as the door closed then made his way back up the path towards his dorm. He could think about what he could do to make his time there more fun, and this girl, Ryuuzaki, seemed like a good person to use for entertainment - especially if she didn't seem to react too badly to being nibbled on.
