Ugh, it's madness how things suddenly go all funky in the middle of the night. Usually I wake up to wee like 4 or 5 times, which is not optimal, but don't tend to have much of a problem with getting back to sleep. I'm tired, man! But for some reason last night I just couldn't get back to sleep for a while and I ended up fretting for a while about

A baby needs a passport to get into the US? Seriously? Wtf? Do they think they're terrorists or something? That's stupid. But I'd think that, if need be, you could expedite it, couldn't you? 28 days is a long time, my love. :)

And don't worry. They won't deny you. You're married, have a British baby who'll be born in less than a week(!!!!!!!!!) and you're super awesome. You'll get to stay.

Yeah, apparently they may turn him away at the border or if they decide to let him in they can use it against him when he *does* apply because it can be seen as intent to withdrawl his citizenship. It is actually illegal for someone who has US citizenship to travel into America without a US passport. They kind of force it on you, unless you never want to go to the US again. AND THEN the foreign embassys are all paranoid about people lying to get their babies passports (which is funny because I'd just give it a miss if I could and he's legally allowed one :P) so you have to actually make and appointment and go to London to get the passport. The earliest you can get an appointment is for two weeks out although it is usually longer, and the application itself is posted to America to print the passport. All of them are apparently, even when I had my name changed on my passport it took weeks because it went to Colorado. So it really is almost impossible to get the baby's passport in 28 days. Which is lame if they're gonna try to kick me
