Dude, I feel for ya. In the dorms, we had not a prankster but worse: a faulty alarm system. It went off, in the middle of the night, forcing evacuation all the time. I usually slept through it, risking th $400 fine for not evacuating.
As for the roommates: that sucks. Hard. I've had a couple of the same problems. I know that the whole "sever the Internet" thing is insanely obnoxious. And the messiness is insane.
Hey, other than that, how's school going? What else us up? Ltns, dude.
Luckily, it wasn't the bonified fire alarm. Ours has an alarm just for removing the cover to set off the alarm.. So it was a local alarm if you will. Still, its freaking obnoxious.
As for school... well, so far so good. One of my professor's is a complete dipshit (will rant on HIM later. Asscrab.) But over all, I'm surviving. I think. How're you?
Well, I'm irked that they're forcing me to take a class where, yes, you're going to read this right, I just learned to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. We're having our first test over it Tuesday. I'm in Basic Math. Of course, my prof promoted me to unofficial TA and I can skip anything but tests, but still
( ... )
I recommend getting an apartment. It is MORE than worth it. And when I say More, I mean MORE. Because honestly, the idiot behavior will never end in a dorm.
and be thankful all you have to do is get up and find the person on call to shut the fire alarm off. We had to get up and go OUTSIDE, even when temperatures were Sub-Zero in the middle of winter. and it usually ended up being burned popcorn that set it off, or something equally as stupid.
And, Dry Campuses don't exist. Except in the dreams of the people who put the policy in place. UND is a "dry campus." But you couldn't prove it by the students. We do out drink the national average, afterall. And we're the number 2 drinking school in the country. So much for Dry.
I would if I could. I don't know anyone down here (or didn't at the time, and now I have a year contract with the school... So it'd just be money wasted. However, I intend to get one ASAP.) And as for "Dry Campus," I noticed, walking back from the Dining Hall... there's a BudLight bottle laying right off the side-walk near my Residence Hall. Nice, eh? As for the fire alarm, yeah... Said above.
My room is bloody right next to the stair well and an exterior door. So I constanatly hear the card-reader unlocking the door, the door handle slamming down... door slamming shut. All hours of the day/night.
I'm getting there. I keep my room clean, and clean up the common area a little. But I told them that I was only cleaning up my shit... so they'll either get fined, or they'll shape up. But I'm done with it.
Anyway, how was the convention? ...it was a convention, wasn't it? *Can't recall. Ashamed.*
