The Riddler Cosplay

Wow, it's been over a month since I've posted here. I genuinely have been terrible at even looking at my Friend's List feed, let alone posting, so I truly do apologize, and hope that no one takes my silence personally.

That said, I can do some catch up later, but right now, I'm in an interesting predicament...

Some local friends and I are going to be ( Read more... )

If everything else utterly fails, look for a white blazer and dye it?

That may be the way to go. :) Gotta make sure it's cotton, though, so it'll take the dye better.

Holy smokes, that looks too good to be true. You think it would work on a full fledged cotton jacket? Like, hang it up, spray it, and let it sit for three days?

Thrift stores are the ultimate landing place for weird color blazers. I'd just hit a bunch up and see what you can find. If all else fails, you can always dye one (like Phineus said.)

Hehe, yeah, my next day off I'm going to hunt down the Goodwill stores nearby. :p I can probably get my tie, slacks, shirt, cane AND jacket from those places, cheap!

+1 on the fabric paint idea, although I was going to suggest plain-ol' spray paint from the hardware store.

also... skullcrusher mountain = total win. :)

Possibly a better option than fabric paint: Fuse a fabric question mark to the tie. You can get fusible webbing at any fabric store. Here's what you do:

1. Get some purple fabric that's similar to the tie fabric.

2. Fuse webbing to it. Don't peel off the other side yet.

3. Draw your question mark on your purple fabric that now has a fusible backing, then cut it out when you like the design.

4. Peel off the backing from your question mark.

5. Fuse to tie. Be sure not to melt the tie when you do this if it's synthetic.

San Francisco Zoot Suits does in fact have green suits, but that's probably more than you want to spend. Unless you really want a green suit for other purposes.

I'd also second the fusible webbing; or sewing it on.

Best option would be both! Fuse it on, then embroider the edges. If, you know, you're feeling really ambitious...
