Personally, I'm not finding it very ethical, cause it really takes out the natural aspect, the intention of how reproduction's supposed to be (okay, so it ties in with my belief as well, but that's a different story).

I've heard this quite awhile ago, and there was even a documentary on TV about a couple who wanted to do this. They chose the sex of their baby, and even chose attributes. Apparently now, you can choose to discard sperm that will cause mutation, and keep ones that give intelligence, well-roundedness, and even personality. Personality- that's going WAY too far.

Your not thinking about children are you...?

I agree with Yoshi though slightly different, I believe that morally its fine but scientifically its bad...it'll all lead to designer babies and genetic modification, then everyone will turn into drones controlled by an elite world council or something, then it'll be my job to free humanity from the opression that said evil world council, but ultimately I will fail and my naturally born child will rise up and finish the job for me. Mweep, that doesn't sound good at all! I hope you've got some nice creams to ease the itchiness a bit... and see if you can control that scratching, I got a couple of bad scars from when I had chickenpox :-S Get better soooon!

Hmm, I think I remember a similar topic on the PPT debating board! ...

I'm not sure if you could say it was unethical. Then again, I'm not sure whether it should be something people should do. It's like in the movie Gattaca (good movie! everyone should see it!)... given the option, wouldn't you want to make your child free of physical and mental disease? It's a bit different, but, it's hard to know where to draw the line...
