cribbing CAN be caused by uclers sometimes too

the mare next to Ally was on 2 years of rehab. 1.5 years in, once she was back on turn outs and lunging and riding, THEN she started cribbing! you'd think she'd have done it sooner when she was stall bound, but nope. only later. I still think it was ulcer induced by all the new stuff, but her owner (a vet no lesS) declined to do the scope to see if there were ulcers. Oh well. She turned into a HORRID cribber too. Course, Ally didn't help by taking OFF her cribbing collar at times. heh.

On the other hand, Dot was a cribber - her teeth showed massive cribbing over the years. But you slapped a miracle collar on her and she didn't even try at all. Very nice :)

I will talk to my vet about the ucler thing. It is a big possibility. I could get her some of that Neighlox and see if it helps. Her teeth show no signs of cribbing in her past. I hope moving her, keeping the collar on and investigating the ulcer thing keeps her happy enough not to crib. Thank you so much for the advice.

Thank you so much for the advice. Onyx is going on GastroGard tonight. My vet is dropping it off and we are going to give it a shot. He said if it is ulers we will see a mass improvement with this new medication and I won't have to pay for the scope. The meds are like $37 a tube and she nees a couple of them. Thank goodness he knows I am a poor lady.
