I had a ridiculously great time last night...

As a preteen and young teen I was fairly obsessed with Star Trek. My sister and I had gone to three conventions and had taped all of TNG and TOS on vhs and would spend summer evenings up all night watching episode after episode. We also read books, collected figures... it is probably safe to say that I like Star Trek more than Star Wars ( Read more... )

Why, woman? Why must you make me wanna like Star Trek? Between your enthusiasm, my own lust for Simon Pegg, and how stunning you look in that ensemble, it's becoming more and more difficult for me to resist.

DAMN YOU! ;P

Its really good and I am pretty certain it translates for non-trek fans. It isn't full of trek babble so to speak.

If you go see it you can always say you went for the eye candy. HOT ASS ACTORS. I usually wouldn't admit to enjoying the eye candy in a film, but it was pretty um... hot.

I think with this movie, you will be hard pressed to not like Star Trek. I'm fairly certain that whatever your aversion is to it at this point, this movie will take you into the universe without annoying you, boring you, or making you regret seeing it.

Just my two cents. :)

I agree, you look so fantastic, and now I actually want to see the movie! I saw the first 8 or something in the theater, my family always watched it together when I was a kid. It broke my heart when they started sucking, and I didn't even see the last two. I was totally prepared to write this one off, too, but I've heard nothing but rave reviews!
