I prefer a knitted headband to earmuffs because it can be worn under a bike helmet. But then, who wants to bike in this shit?

Also, I love fingerless gloves. They're not only super handy (pun!), but they're also really quick and easy to knit.

I would add, if you live somewhere like Michigan, where it's cold AND wet, then a good pair of snow boots is a must. I would totally buy these if I still lived up there. The snow boots of my childhood were not nearly so glamorous.

Did not forget. If I could clone David and make one for all of my friends, I would. :)

Well I have a whole new appreciation for "cold" now that I live in NE. I don't worry about the temp really unless it dips below 20 or so. I usually go with a great big fluffy sweater and a scarf until about 20. After that I get out my winter coat. Buuuuut, I love to stay warm with soups, homemade hot cocoa and snuggles! And wool socks...mmmm wool socks....
