almost like seeing a ghost

So, I finally got my Nintendo DS Lite, and fired up the copy of Pokémon Diamond that I've been waiting to try out for all this time.

Guess what I found.

Turns out the cartridge already has a saved game on it. "DON", Trainer ID 38663, who has seen over 350 kinds of Pokémon, captured over 220, earned all eight Gym badges... in short, a character all her own.

So now I'm left with a strange choice: What do I do with this ghost trainer and the collection she's built up? On the one hand, I don't want to wipe out the time and emotional investment that went into getting that far, but on the other hand it feels weird to just extract Pokémon from DON's save to use in my own game... almost like looting an abandoned house or something. And leaving the save there indefinitely is almost as weird, since I'd be hanging on to a character that I'll never actually use.

What do you think, flist?
