On the coat tails of Chris' latest enviro-post extolling the virtues of the NDP's new environment plans I post this kudos to the only place really visibly seeming to do more than nothing or just talking about positive environmental change: the state of California.

This article, posted on Slashdot, demonstrates (again) the good 'brain stuffs'

I noticed that too. California sure is leading the way environmentally in North America.

One intelligent comment I read (a Slashdot first) pointed out that they shouldn't be making incandescent bulbs illegal but rather mandating energy efficient bulbs - which in effect with ban all current incandescents, and also ban other types of bulbs that might be just as wasteful.

Not only do they save you money in electricty usage, they last for much longer than incandescent bulbs. I've been using the same set of bulbs for over 2 years and not one has gone out yet.
