Does anyone listen to any good podcasts? I bought myself an Ipod shuffle recently and have recently joined the gym at the JCC so now I need something to listen to. Any suggestions? I'm open to just about anything.
You can look at my LJ homepage, on the lefthand column, to see everything I listen to. I've really been enjoying the Chicago Faculty one recently, but it's very philosophy-and-history-of-law intensive, and I don't know if you care about that sort of thing at all. And I usually enjoy EconTalk, but the host generally frustrates the shit out of me - Angry Bear has declared him "at war with data". He's very libertarian and anti-econometrics. Again, caveat emptor, but he frequently has great guests.
rachel maddow!! its her msnbc news show. she is amazing. she is seriously such a geek about the news and politics and has great way of talking about it.
also, NPR's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me is on podcast as well.
I'm a JCC member too! That probably doesn't mean much, because I'm a very solitary exerciser, but still! Good for you. It's a really nice place. I don't know what you're into, but I always enjoyed Shari's pilates class on Wednesdays at 6:30, and I started going to Group Power last year (and went last night for the first time in too long, ow).
I have to listen to music at the gym....it's the only way. I keep really fast, fun stuff on my mp3 player (Flogging Molly gets a lot of play).
I am a fan of the shows Marketplace Money and Marketplace. Both air on many U.S. Npr stations. The shows are available in podcast. (http://marketplace.publicradio.org/)
I also recently discovered that UC Berkeley offers many of its lectures free. Just go to the itunes store and search UC Berkeley.
